Honestly, I don't think it's the games that burn them out, right? I think Bill Self must like to run his players into the ground during practices.

The counter argument is the whistles are all about getting back to a more fluid game where defenders can't just grab and push instead of actually defending.

Bullshit. They single handedly ruined the game. So many touch fouls. So many bullshit calls. Both ways. 50 fouls.

I'm just saying the goal is letting skill players make plays without getting bumped and pulled by defenders that have been beaten, which ultimately benefits teams like KU that have an athleticism advantage against most teams year after year.

Yeah, I'd agree, if they hang with it all the way through to the tournament. But we've seen it over and over. Call it tight early but swallow the whistle when conference play starts.

Mason will drive and get blasted, Graham abused, Bragg jacked up and there will be no call.

That's what's ****ing horse shit about this ****ing nonsense. KSU will bring ball bats, but neither team can breathe in this one.

I'll say it, they've had a bunch of shit ass terrible calls against them too.

The refs always have an agenda at the beginning of the year to officiate a certain way and look for specific things. Then as the year progresses refs push that stuff aside and we see them letting players play through contact. Anyways, the best part of that game last night wasn't the win. Its the fact josh jackson decided to take that game over on the offensive end for a stretch by realizing he can get to the basket at will.

Heh...WVU is going to need to have 35 players on their bench so they can play 'their brand' of basketball.

I was back and forth on the incessant whistles last night and Bilas was trying to defend the refs and I could see his points. There needs to be a better way of eliminating some of the rough stuff and not randomly throwing in a 'ticky tack' touch fouls that slow/stop the game.

I guess I understand the need to clamp down, but it sure made the game last night hard to watch.

That was very exciting. I hadn't been able to catch any of the exhibition. The first game I saw was against Indiana. The first thing I thought was that the guy may have been overhyped. After last night, I now see why he was the top recruit (or 2nd recruit if you go by ESPN's list).

He's good.....really good. Seems to play tough defense (which you don't see right out of the gate in most freshman) and he can shoot & drive the ball. It was almost like a light went off last night for him offensively.....there was a 4-6 minute stretch where every time down the floor, he wanted the ball. The moment he had it, he drove. He's going to be a fun one to watch this year.

Yeah, that moment where he must have said to himself "they can't stop me". Love it!

Jackson's free throw shooting is a concern, though.
