2019 Free agency Thread

We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

If they really needed cash to go out and get another player.....they could easily cut guys like Sorenson, Murray or Ragland. That's almost $4.5 million in just those three players.

Don't why Ragland is even still here, he has no fit in the defense.

Lots of people would be fine just letting Ford walk so anything is better than nothing in that scenario.

It's not much but it's a start. Cut Berry and that puts you at $6 million in extra cap space.

Dee ****ing Ford is the elephant in the room right now. They need to get him the **** off this team.

The problem is they need a lot on the d and it isn't exactly full of free agent guys at those spots.

The biggest elephant in the room is that they've drafted like ass on defense for a while and are now paying for it.

He HAS to be cut in the next 30 hours or so or his 2019 salary becomes guaranteed.

He can be cut now and DESIGNATED as a June 1st cut, which applies the post-June 1st rules to the salary cap even though he was cut in March.

I'm factoring in $4.5 million from the other three cuts and then $1.5 million in cap savings for cutting Berry right now. **** the June 1st cut. Just take the dead cap hit now.

And there you have it. Mathieu is a modest improvement in nearly every area but a MAJOR upgrade in run defense.

Jamie Collins would be a solid add. Maybe try to sign a decent middle tier CB.
