Not really. I like seeing athletes flying through the air and elite quickness. Hopefully Scoot can save the NBA...for me. For big men I like watching Embiid, Giannis, Zion. I really dont want to see a resurgence of big men unless they are freak athletes.

Yea, Zion is MUCH better than Jokic for the game!

Doesn't sound like you want to watch good basketball, just great athletes. In which case, you could just watch gymnastics, or that American ninja thing. Then you wouldn't have to be bothered by such trivialities like solid fundamentals, coaching, etc.

Correct. If I wanted to watch "good" "fundamental" basketball I'd watch 1980's Princeton. But I myself don't like watching paint dry. The reason NBA basketball usually is so exciting is because of the 24 second shot clock, lack of zone defense, and watching a guy beat his guy to make a tough shot.

Everyone's hero Michael Jordan was definitely an iso player and one that fit that mold. That is why it was so fun to watch. There is some allure in the Golden State Warriors with their spacing & passing it quickly every which way to a shooter, but the absolute nut low is watching plodding big men - yes Jokic is a decent athlete but he's still plodding. Nothing jumps out at you, it's that old man at the YMCA game he's got.

You ever have that loudmouth friend in your early 20’s who couldn’t help but go 0-10 any time you took him out to the bar? Who couldn’t take even lighthearted trolling without threatening to kick someone’s ass?

Yeah, that’s McGregor, add in the fact that he now has what feels like unlimited income, reports of substance abuse, and now the never easy news that his star is fading - and it leads to very public meltdowns especially when he’s seemed to have lost himself in the act. It’s been ugly, to say the least, and he seems to be on the Tyson trajectory before the PR rehab he got with The Hangover.

So now that I've looked into this, it just appears that it was a skit gone wrong.

McGregor is an asshole, but whoever came up with that dumb skit is to blame for this one IMO.

I don't follow it super close, but its definitely looking like McGregor is spinning out of control... he's all swoll up on juice and acting like it

Same. I asked him how many fights he's ever got into on a golf course and he's like oh you know 8 or 9.

It's pretty difficult to watch Jokic's game and not love what he's doing with the basketball.

meh, I've always just liked seeing great players play the game. Never been a fan of a particular team. I don't really watch the NBA much but I've been seeing a lot of talk about Jokic and he's pretty impressive tbh.
