This pick might be considered a reach but had he played this year he likely would have been a 1st round pick and the Seahawks need to improve the defensive line. Marvin Austin Defensive Tackle North Carolina

Thats what I'm thinking the biggest knock on him IMO was he didn't play last year sounds like the other flaws can easily be corrected and maybe another impressive thing is how he played in the Senior Bowl. He actually was in shape and made a play......

I'll pile on here, well done, billay. You're coming of age. Carroll made Mike Williams skinny, imagine what he can do with a guy who REALLY wants to play after missing last year.

When you look at the way this draft looks, I would love it if a team behind us fell in love with a player on the board in the first and we were able to move back in the second and grab a first next year. I like the value of some of these second round picks better than some of the picks in the 20s in the first.

doomy, I agree depending how things fall. The Chiefs are in a great position to trade down and get more picks. We'll see if Pioli can earn his keep this year. It's the rubber year for Pioli and crew. Can he draft well, if he tries?

For instance, in this draft, I would see if the Cowboys, Bills or someone else wanted JJ Watt and try to move back in the second and pick up a first or second next year. Then I would grab Brooks Reed. Brooks Reed and a first or second next year is so much better than staying in that slot and drafting a Robert Ayers, IMO.

I know he was rated high after last years draft but for whatever reason most the draft sites I saw had him going in the 3rd round at the earliest. NFLDraftcountdown had him ranked the 11th best tackle in the draft (bullshit).

I was really hoping he'd make it to the Bengals in the 3rd. Perfect 3-technique.

The Ravens do need some help along the right side of their line, which leaks like a sieve.
Flacco is not very good under pressure. Giving him elite protection on the right edge as well as his left is a priority. The Baltimore Ravens select OT Joseph Barksdale, LSU. Barksdale is one of my favorite sleepers in the draft. The guy has the gigantic size the Ravens love, long-ass arms, great athleticism and multiple years of elite performance in the SEC. |
