im glad thats what we resort to get behind players, not physical talent but the emotion of their effort even though they are slow, small and fall down when a linebacker looks at them

We're going to have this argument again?

Remember in the last dexter mccluster thread where you guys argued that he sucked and doesn't deserve a roster spot, then I pointed out that he's a running back who can play wide receiver and produce from any position on the field?

Heart isn't everything but how many times have you seen that little shit dive below a crowd of tacklers and roll for an extra 4-5 yards? Seems to happen 3-4 times a game.

You guys also argued that he wasn't productive, but he held an improved, and high YPC Rushing, as well as a decent YPC receiving for a hybrid player/Running back.

Please, start a new Dexter McCluster thread so I can own the absolute **** out of you on his "talents" again.

This thread is for the Dunta/Lewis argument (well, now it is)

I like players who play football. I like Dunta because he hits hard, he doesn't throttle down, he goes hard. Coverage you can teach, motor you cannot.

They're both shitty. They don't produce first downs. They don't produce touchdowns. They don't make big plays. Dexter drops a lot of balls and turns the ball over, too.

The fact that Dexter is less shitty doesn't mean much.

Rod Woodson, John Lynch, Merton Hanks, Ronnie Lott, it happens quite a bit actually.

What you seem to not quite understand, is that even in the 5th and 6th years, these guys are still learning and adjusting.

take a guy like Charles Woodson as an example, do you think he just stopped learning when he came to the pros? The reason he's been as good as gold since day 1 until now, is because he's ever changing, he lost a step, but he learned how to make up for it. Same goes for the Champ Baileys of the world.

How about Ed Reed? He was god awful in coverage but one hell of a playmaker, he's pretty old now don't you think? Still learning, still refining his play. He got better with age, as do most free safety types.
