Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

Magpul is giving away 1,500 free mags in Glendale, CO to the first 1,500 people through the gate at their pro-2nd Amendment event today.

Magpul is not the only business that's saying the hell with this and pulling out. Denver-based Lawrence Tool & Molding announced in February that it would take jobs and machinery out of the state if Magpul relocates. Bonus, early last month, HiViz Shooting Systems http://www.hivizsights.com/ said it would relocate operations outside of Colorado due to the gun-control measures passed by state lawmakers. The company, based in Fort Collins, makes gun sights and recoil pads. This is going to end up costing CO hundreds of jobs.

I love my WW AK-74 that I bought from Atlantic Firearms a few months ago. Time to start stocking up on ammo. If you're looking for some non-corrosive 5.45x39, this is probably the cheapest you'll find. http://shop.militaryshooters.com/cat...11&pid=1028172 I bought 2 cases of that, along with 2 crates of Bulgarian milsurp ammo when I got my AK. |

The gas block looks awesome IMO, but it is NOT spring loaded. I have to physically grab it and swing it up instead of hitting a release switch. It does have a very solid lock to hold it up, and I have to push a spring loaded button to unlock it and push it back down. I still need to get a folding back sight to complete my backups so that I am ready for WWZ. The Nikon M223 BDC looks decent, but I need to take it shooting before I give it a review. I got it from Midway for 239. For one of your lowers you should consider a 300 Blackout short barrel with suppressor............ |

One of my best friends in the world flew up at the last second this week and I took him out for a surprise shoot.
He is originally from Carson (Los Angeles), and he has never shot a gun. He LOVED it, and after about 50 rounds he was hitting our 100 yard armor plates at a good rate. Gun in the pic is a RR 16" AR 15 with TDI rail and Mako GL Shock stock: If you look in the background there is a tree in front and behind him. There is a ridge about 150 yards beyond the trees that I set up balloons for our 1000 yard shots. At least Kansas is good for something. |

I have a question though, what is the difference between a AK74 and AK47? I'm seeing more 74's than 47 lately. |

Biggest difference is that the 47 is chambered in 7.62 x 39, and the 74 is chambered in 5.45 x 39.

AK 74 = Small Bullet moving fast, barely any recoil Mikhail Kalashnikov was pissed when the Soviets went to the 5.56 equivalent when they changed to the AK 74. He said that his weapon was perfect already. In Vietnam the Reds were shocked at how much damage the little 5.56 bullets were doing, and decided to nearly clone it. The smaller bullet allowed them to carry a lot more ammo, and have much better follow-up shots due to little recoil. |
