I look at it this way: I see a Chiefs offense that has settled in on an identity dating back to Cincy game. They've accepted their strengths and weaknesses fully and are adapting their approach as such. The defense has been tremendous all year long. The team is healthy, relative to other teams still playing, especially Buffalo.

Maybe more significant than all that, this Chiefs team is having fun again. The confidence is showing through. Is that them "flipping the switch"? Maybe somewhat, but a lot has to do with them intentionally having the right mindset and playing loose.

On the other hand, Buffalo can say whatever they want today and all week long -- they ain't loose. Not when that ball gets tee'd up. The pressure of 60 years worth of failure, 13 seconds, all of it, rests squarely on the minds of those coaches and players. No rings or accomplishments to rest back on with confidence. That shit just matters to me in a big spot like this. Doesn't help matters that McDermott is apparently a bit of a tight-bound nut under pressure naturally.

On the field level, if the Chiefs play an equally clean game, they win. Pacheco and his physical presence will matter in a cold game like this. The back end of the Buffalo defense is vulnerable and can be had all night long if you protect Patrick. To me, if the Chiefs lose, it'll be because the offensive tackles totally suck ass or we fumble the football a couple times. All possible, but not what I expect.

Defensively, I'm not sure what Buffalo can get on us with any consistency besides running the football. If KC lets Cook rip off 6+ per carry, it's problematic. But in the drop back passing game, Sneed will do plenty to negate Diggs. McDuffie will do his part. I think they rely totally on Allen's ability to extend plays -- just like the matchup a month ago. Nothing will come easy to him IMHO and it'll be interesting to see how he handles that in Orchard Park where if they fall down 0-10, you will be able to hear a pen drop.

That's what I expect. A lot of tight buttholes early and throughout. We Chiefs fans get it. Being at home isn't necessarily a good thing when all the pressure is on you. It's still incredible to me that we overcame the negative energy circulating Arrowhead when down 0-24 vs. Houston.
Agree with all this.

Karlaftis still doesn’t get talked about enough, which is why I bolded one part. His motor is relentless. When Allen is forced to hold the ball and extend plays, George won’t quit. He’s almost like a Pacheco of DE’s. Dude just doesn’t stop.

There's a lot more tape on the way he's being used now, Cook was not used remotely like that until Joe Brady took over for Ken Dorsey.

A dome on their new stadium? Why would they want that, when they have a governor (from Buffalo area) who will effectively change the schedule for them, or Goodell (also from Buffalo area) who will relocate games for them.

The Bills have a strong running game, and I would expect them to rely heavily on it, especially if they're playing with a lead.

I think if you're a Bills coach, you probably like the idea of long, sustained, run-focused drives that keep your injured defense on the sideline while somewhat neutralizing Allen's tendency to throw interceptions. They're an effective tush-push team as well, so I'd expect some 3rd down runs intentionally creating those 4th and short situations.
that was also the first game KC played after Cook was injured, and Cook's long TD reception looked like it came on a busted S responsibility rotation. You can see Justin Reid patting himself on the chest as if to say "that's my fault" after the play, which featured the slot defender biting hard to the flat while Edwards rotated up into the slot defender's vacated space. Reid was the S on the other side of the field, so on rewatch I do wonder if that was the plan.

Am I the only one who likes Josh Allen? As in the person? Seems like a good down to earth dude in interviews and when they do golf stuff. He's not the leader of men Mahomes is but not everyone can be.

Seems like a good guy off the field. No problem with him there. Some of his antics on the field ain't great though. One time he started a fight with some guys, knowing that QB's get special treatment from the refs and he had his OL guys backing him up. Pretty chickenshit deal there.

Yeah, such simpletons... hundreds of replies in that thread saying they aren't worried about the Chiefs, then as soon as someone links this thread it's "they're so arrogant over there, might as well not play the game!!!".

He bragged that he has a stronger arm than Mahomes and wanted to have a throw off. It's such a douchey thing for a pro QB to do.

I would really like the guy if he played for some obscure NFC team. We’d face him like once or twice total in the regular season and never in the SB because he doesn’t have the “get to the SB” club in his bag. As is, however…..**** him
