The thing we have to keep in mind, though, is that we've got 15, maybe 20 at-bats with Mahomes at the plate. We put in a pinch hitter on his first at-bat, and he just hit a long deep fly ball on his second at-bat that was caught as it was about to clear the wall. We have a limited number of at-bats with Mahomes and the ball bounces funny sometimes.

(That last clause strayed from the baseball analogy.)

the team shouldn't be happy with this loss and think to themselves that there's always next year.

the nfl is always changing and new schemes come out every year. there's a whole years tape on Mahomes and Reids offense. And injuries can always hit and kill any chance of a season.

the team needs to figure what they need to do and fast. No moral victories. next year it has to be superbowl or bust. Look at what happened to the vikings, they thought they are just one QB away and will make it to the superbowl.

It's not that simple. Every year is different. Team needs to figure shit out.

We blew the best chance at going to a Superbowl in our lives. We're the same age man. I rocked my starter jacket my dad bought when Joe Montana was our qb to the game today.

What's the concern exactly?

Has a franchise QB ever demanded a trade(or switched teams early or during the prime of his career) after establishing himself with an organization? No.

Elway and Eli Manning demanded trades after they were drafted by teams they refused to play for.
