I hate bandwagon fans. California Yankee fans are the worst. I don't mean folks who moved from NY to California, but native Californians who root for the Yankees whenever they win. Low life scum.

Pretty sure that people still talked about sports prior to message boards. I know for a fact that when Montana went to KC a lot of 9er fans followed..even cheered for him when he beat the 9ers.

I can appreciate your loyalty to your team...I still love the 9ers..heck I'm a season ticket holder...but like I said, I don't feel like I'm any less of a fan because I've decided that it's silly to be locked into rooting for only one team.

Back in the pre-salary cap era, players stayed with their teams until they were about ready to retire or until that time. Players represented their teams. Say Montana, Young, Craig, Lott or Rice and you think Niners. Same for Aikman, Staubach, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irving...But what about Deon Sanders, Marcus Allen, Rich Gannon, Randy Moss?

Point is, once upon a time being loyal to a team was the same thing as being loyal to a player..and visa versa. Between the Salary Cap and Fantasy Football I think the NFL has changed that dynamic.

So, you're going to look down on someone for showing loyalty to a player instead of a team. Okay...you're welcome to your opinion.

How is rooting for the worst team in the nfl bandwagoning?

15 yards on a wack roughness call on play 1.

9 yards and a still 1st down after Play 2 PI penalty.

Defense let them go the rest pretty easily. Heyward-Bey lol.

The next 7 drives. 3 FG attempts 4 punts.

The 2nd TD drive the Colts were given a 1st down on what should of been a 3rd and 9 play. During the replays nobody could find what was called.

Still not a good performance.

But last year when the Vikings won. Christian Ponder and co waltzed down the field 80+ yards 3 times for TDs, there was a mini meltdown over Smith.

Finger wagging over how 'This is how it is when he isn't carried by the defense'

Smith at least played like a typical Ponder game. He was semi-competent.

Kaepernick, who is supposed to be able to elevate the offense in times of need, what Smith is supposed to fail at?

He has utterly crapped the bed the last 2 weeks.

Week 1 was great but at the time in reaction to the reactionaries suggesting he was maybe the best QB.

I saw the gameplan was solid. The pass blocking was solid. The guys out in the routes got open. They made some tough catches. They got some YAC.

If he played a Peyton Manning type game that would of been a sign I would bought in fully with Kaepernick.

But it was only more of what I already knew. He is really good at throwing.
His #1 option was locked on to and the defense wasn't up to snuff. Boldin was thrown to 17 times. Vernon 9 times.

Now when stuff isn't going to plan you see the gears grinding in his head. Not making the best guesses pre-snap and only getting worse from there.

Now is where I worry about him not being prudent 'I know I can make something happen' 'I see I could of run for a 1st down a couple times if I didn't hesitate'

Sure he can do it but on the football field you are pressing your luck. A shoulder gets hit wrong or an ankle turned.

Then the 49ers are starting Colt McCoy

I agree. My point was the other 9 guys haven't played up to their normal standards as he was touting how much better Alice's QBR was than the elite guys at the moment.

They like to take a snapshot in time and pretend it is representative. "Alex has less ints than manning. Alex has a better completion % than Rodgers". Stuff like that. As if to imply Alex is elite by association, then they will turn right around and say "no, we know Alex is just average".

They are your problem now. We had them for years and now you are stuck with them until Alex is traded or retires a Chief or suffers a career ending injury.

Then they will be gone like the wind because they couldn't give a rat's ass about the Chiefs beyond that being the team Alex is currently on.

Do you even wonder why this thread has 400 pages and will go to 1000 if so allowed? We just had a series of 200 page threads. In fact, each week we had a 200 page thread arguing with the Acolytes of the Church of Alex Smith.

It's funny you mention that because I think of these Alice followers much like I do those that were David Koresh followers and the dumbasses that committed suicide because the alien mother ship was going to be overhead. I may start calling him Alice Manson. It's beyond ****ing weird. I still think a majority are crazy Mormons or something. it's just out there for a mediocre QB to have such a cult following.

The point is not so much that rooting for a player is wrong, it's that coming over to that player's team's board and pretending to be a fan just makes you look like a bandwagoner.

LeBron James is my favorite athlete of all time. I root for him when he's not playing the Clippers. That being said, you'll never see me on a Heat forum acting like a Heat fan and talking down to everybody like the Alice slurpers have done here.
