Davenport will be gone even if the Rams give you their 1st at 23 over all. I expect Davenport to be gone by the 15th pick at the very latest.

At least Vech has recovered most of the picks Dorsey gave away last year.

You guys have a ton of rebuilding to do especially on D.

If this is the plan it is flawed.

Draft is not deep in pass-rushers so Davenport will almost certainly be gone. The one available will be Arden Key. The most talented one probably, but he is another Marcus Peters with plenty of off field issues.

But damn man, people need to consider the above points just the same... it had to have been simply AWFUL behind the scenes for them to ditch talent like him so soon

So far, I've seen nothing from Veach to indicate that he doesn't have a plan for the Chiefs roster, nor that he's been fleeced in trades or player acquisitions.

If the reports are confirmed, the Chiefs now have a 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7, 7 and Kendall Fuller before the League Year opens, in addition to a Comp Pick for Nick Foles.

That's a lot of firepower in order to re-stock the 53 with young players, not to mention at least $20 million in Salary Cap space.

I'll hold judgement until I see how the rest of free agency and the draft pans out. As a few people have mentioned this coaching staff isn't afraid to handle players with character flaws (Tyreek Hill coming out of the draft for example). Things must have been worse than fans realize.

Really hope Veach signs an impact player for the secondary.

They took a chance on Peters. In some ways, it worked marvelously. In other ways, it didn't. And now - very possibly through no fault of their own - they're going in a different direction and still getting what's likely to be a 'decent' return all considered.

If they get a 1st out of this kid with his problems then Veach is genius. He is talented enough to get that compensation but being a locker room problem usually knocks it down
