Matt Cassel has an appendectomy this morning

Chiefs QB Matt Cassel underwent an appendectomy this morning, according to a league source. Big question mark for Sunday now.

If the appendix wasn't in terrible shape and he has no infections... the only pain he should have is from the minor incisions and the residual from having his abdomen inflated by CO2 (which can be minimized if the surgeon gives a damn).

I don't think people realize how non-invasive this procedure CAN be... it often isn't because Joe Surgeon doesn't give a shit about whether you are up and around tomorrow or next week...

I definitely don't have enough information on this particular case.. but in a perfect worlkd it is POSSIBLE for him to be at practice tomorrow without risk of anything more serious than tearing external stitches.

I don't think that's going to happen seeing as we have some pretty smart people in charge and it's not a desperate situation.

I dunno about that...I mean if we win, the Chargers are done..basically the division is ours...If they win, we let them back in the race....I'd say that qualifies as fairly desperate.

Kind of funny all of the people that are sad Cassel may not play. For the first 4 weeks of the season, he was referred to as Casshole.

I wish more would believe in the team and stop complaining. I knew that Cassel would do well with support. He is not there yet, but we are heading in the right directions. Nice to have only a few Ints.

I think the Chiefs should require all players to have an apendectomy in the offseason so this doesn't happen to any of them during our Superbowl run next year.

No, it really doesn't qualify as desperate at all. We do not get eliminated if we lose this game. I suggest you go look up the word "desperate", little monkey. Winning this game is not worth it if it means we lose Cassel for the rest of the season.
