Maybe. Perhaps probable.

So at least two pretty successful front offices disagree with you Crow. Doesn't mean you're wrong of course, just means there's clearly another line of thought.

I think Hardman's got a little extra something with the ball in his hands in space that I don't see as much with Campbell, and if I were to guess (which is really what we're all doing) THAT is what Reid and Veach liked so much.
That first sentence is pure conjecture by pundits and the Chiefs' organization. We have no idea whether or not Philly wanted Hardman. In fact, we don't know that any team wanted Hardman in that range. Veach's statement indicated that teams wanted to move up TO 61 from lower than that for A player. They have no clue who that player was with certainty. We know that whoever it was was no longer available at 63 when Veach called teams back. It could have been Hardman, Whiteside, Hill, Campbell, Adderley, Rapp, or Isabella.

We only know for certain that the Chiefs' front office disagrees with me, and I hope they are the correct ones.

Like I said earlier, Campbell was the 2nd most productive player in terms of YAC in the NCAA in 2018. He's got every single bit of juice with the ball in his hands as Hardman does in his.

I simply don't think that had anything to do with it. What that thing is, I can't really put my finger on. However, I believe it to be the mental aspect of the game. If that's the case, I can't really bitch about the pick. And I'm not even bitching per se... I do really like Hardman. I just don't think he is as good as Campbell. That may very well be personal preference.

you guys are comparing a true run first offense to and air first system. really physically theyre close enough to the same that it probably came down to the interview. didnt mecole play qb, cb, and wr? hes obviously got to be some what intelligent if he was fair at all three.

As an OSU fan myself I was a little biased but I'm fine letting this play out. I have high hopes for Hardman. Selfishly though I just want to see KC actually take an OSU player. Seems like they never do lol.

Hardman is a year younger than Campbell and perhaps they chose him because Paris already has his style/tendences down due to getting the ball way more whereas they may be able to mould Mecole's game more at this stage of his development? Either way Mecole looks like a special talent to me and will probably be the youngest WR In the league next season having just turned 21.

I just watched a 4 minute highlight video of Campbell and there was only 1 catch of a go route on the video. It was not a clean catch on a perfectly thrown ball with no DB contesting the catch. With Mahomes at QB, I could see AR being hesitant about drafting a very fast WR who lacked confidence in his ability to make over the shoulder catches on go routes.

The Chiefs wanted Hardman, went up and got Hardman, and now we must hope that was a better decision than going up for Campbell.

Anyone see the ESPN segment with Matthew Berry where they picked Hardman as the #1 rookie fantasy wide receiver? They of course factored in where the player went, so playing under Andy Reid with Mahomes throwing the ball put Hardman over guys like Brown in Baltimore due to having a running back at QB.

I believe Tetez Paylor also confirmed that Philly were gonna make a move for him before we moved up.

Campbell is a nice athlete but is not a deep threat

Alot of his highlights seem to be jet sweeps, WR screens, and toss sweeps. You can’t exactly make a HOF career in the NFL off of that.

Hardman and Campbell have different strengths. Campbell is much better looking in pads, appears bigger and moves more smoothly, so I definitely understand why people want him but I think Hardman has a higher ceiling and I predict Campbell is a gadget player in the NFL.

I mean you don’t have to believe it, but that combined with Veach’s comments is enough for me.

I'll go on record saying that if the guy stays healthy as that's out of their control this is what I think the guy does with 15/16 games.

Without Tyreek I think his stats are 900-1100 yards with 8-12 TD's

With Tyreek (4-6 game suspension) 700-900 yards with 6-9 TD's

Plus I think he will be a monster on special teams and will make the probowl and should be a top 5 for rookie of the year.

All of this because of the Mahomes effect. If Mahomes stays healthy he will be 4500-5300 yards , 40 plus TD's , someone has to catch them especially with Sammy being a glass house.

Rookie numbers are out! Hardman will wear Conley’s old number 17

Also interesting, Darwin Thompson will wear Jamaals number of 25
