So the NFL doesn't have big games? Got it.

The MU-Kentucky game had more value than the KU/Texas Tech or the KU/Iowa State game had.

If Johnny football goes to the NFL and Texas A&M starts getting their ass beaten in the SEC the whole mood will change.

Now, if you could, explain how MU or Kentucky had a chance to beat Alabama. I'd love to hear this one. |

And you claimed that you can't have both this and big games.

What did those bowl invites get the Big 12 other than a couple of gaping assholes courtesy of actual football teams?

Missouri did, however, almost beat Florida in their house, and they were a BCS team. More people watched Mizzou and Kentucky than did ISU and KU. It is nice to know KU knows its place in football though...they are there to make sure teams like Tech and ISU make a bowl game.

A&M had a top 5 recruiting class. The best class in the Big 12 was Oklahoma at 15.

I disagree with it. Why are you holding me accountable for something Clay Travis said when you won't even own your own dumb statement?

Travis was dumb even bringing up the NFL in the first place. It's not relevant. If college football wanted to move to a comparable NFL system, they'd just cut out 1/2 the BCS schools to begin with and just have the legit teams play each other. There would be no need to keep Mississippi State or Kentucky or Kansas around in the first place, and certainly none of those pointless non-con exhibitions the big dogs play. |

Barry Alvarez: Big Ten Agrees To Stop Playing FCS Opponents In Football
Football fans of major BCS conference football powers sometimes cringe when their teams take-on most FCS football teams. There are some FCS football powers, like the North Dakota State Bison (who recently won their second consecutive national title), but with results like Oregon’s 63-14 victory over Tennessee Tech for example, some conferences are looking in a different direction. Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez shared some information regarding a new agreement between the Big Ten football conference members on his monthly radio show Tuesday night, Jeff Potrykus of the Journal-Sentinel reports. Big Ten officials recently agreed to stop scheduling nonconference games against FCS programs, according to Alvarez. “The nonconference schedule in our league is ridiculous,” Alvarez said on WIBA-AM. “It’s not very appealing…So we’ve made an agreement that our future games will all be Division I schools. It will not be FCS schools.” With the new post-season format on the horizon and the additions of Rutgers and Maryland, scheduling could become a factor to determine the top four seeds within the playoff system. There is not a set date for this agreement so stay tuned as this story develops.
