How do you like to mix your McDonalds Saweetie Meal?

Fries on or off? McNugget sandwich or with Meat?

It's not price so much as value. They charge as much or more as a low end sit down restaurant, but their quality is (maybe) slightly better than BK.

They charge around 6 bucks for a large order of fries and close to 3 dollars for a soft drink. McDonald's has much better fries and a large coke is only a buck.

Hmm, never had that issue... I don't love them by any means, but the few times I've tried one, it's always seemed like a pretty basic burger.

Yeah, for the price, I'd rather go to The Habit or Smashburger, which are maybe even a few bucks cheaper. Didn't realize their fries were $6, even though you would probably get enough fries to feed like 4 people.

The Habit has a great burger. Also a damn good chicken club. As I mentioned in another thread, Rehab Burger Therapy is my burger favorite.

Honestly, it's probably the Five Guys by my home. When they first opened I got a burger and fries and was happy. Then a month later got another walked in sneakers and felt I was walking on ice the floor was so greasy. Wasn't much of a crowd but waited forever. Every time I thought my burgers were on the griddle some mope would walk in get his take-out order and out the door. When I finally did get my order it's dripping grease eat about half and say nope. Eat most of the fries in the bag never getting to the fries in the container. They are ok. I get home and feel greasy like I have been slaving in that grease house flipping burgers. When I go there to get a burger I drive right by Firehouse Subs. I pull in get a meatball sub just cant risk the 5 dudes.

Yeah, and a lot of times it's that one lasting impression (fair or not). Consistency is underrated, yet one bad trip and people tend to think that's how it always is..... Love or hate McDonald's, when I went there fairly often in high school, I'd get exactly the same cheap slides-down-the-gullet quality every single time.

The restaurant business is very strange. If a customer goes to a new restaurant and has a sub par experience they will frequently never come back. On the flipside, if they have a bad experience at a chain restaurant or at an established local restaurant they tend to write it off as a fluke.

There is a little restaurant in a town near where I live that has had a bad reputation due to its lack of cleanliness and for bad service for literally decades. But the same people who complain about it, even the ones who say they get sick after eating their inevitability go back because it's some sort of local institution. It's bizarre.

I think it depends on the chain and the level of bad experience. I'm sure we've all had bad experiences at places like McDonald's and Wendy's, but I generally blame the staff at that particular location. The nearest Popeye's is staffed by morons and the service is generally terrible, for example, but the next closest one is great.

But then there was the experience I had at an Applebee's in Staten Island. Went there after the 12+ hour drive from Chicago with the friends we were visiting. It was a few days before Christmas, and unbeknown to us they were having their staff Christmas party that night. We got there shortly before closing and boy, did they not appreciate it. Had they just told us to **** off and go away it would have been better, but instead they grudgingly seated us. Our waitress was sullen and rude, and other staff members gave us shitty looks. We got ice cold breadsticks, and when we complained, the bitch obviously just chucked them in a microwave and brought them back. They were hot, but also had the consistency of rubber. It was like trying to bite into a ****ing Gumby. I couldn't even pull the goddamn thing apart. We complained again, got more attitude (even from the manager), and finally just got up and left; knowing something about what angry people can do to/put it one's food, it seemed like the right call. But I was so put off by their crap that didn't set foot in another Applebee's for 10 years. Which was a shame, because the local one ended up being really good.

I like a Big Mc every once in a while, maybe once a quarter. Gotta be a freshie though, get a little sus if it’s old. Still fairly decent for the odd junk food run.

I’d rather eat basically anywhere else. I find there burgers to be extremely bland and for the price I’d expect to be satisfied and happy when heading out. The fries aren’t bad but when I’m getting a burger it should be the star.

She needs to quit eating that. It is going straight to her butt.

Chili's has a pretty good burger at a reasonable price. You can get a bacon cheeseburger, fries, drink, and a bowl of soup for ten bucks. Why go to McDonald's or Wendy's when you can just call in an order there? I mean, a large Big Mac meal is going to cost around 8 or 9 bucks these days, right?
You cannot get a marginal lunch for less than 9 right now.
