I wonder... Will I feel better or worse when we trade down (out of the 1st round) and pick up the missing 3rd round pick?

Wow. You still feel when we draft? I sit there numb, not feeling anything.

Well, that tends to happen more than just during we draft........

apples and oranges

yes, we did suck but it's really pretty irrelevant to the job that carl does as a GM

just because steadman sucked worse, doesn't mean that carl doesn't suck.

CP = good president
CP = good CEO
CP = crappy GM

beside the financial landscape changed at almost the precise time that carl took over. The ability to achieve financial success and relative team parity increased 100x when the NFL change free agency etc to increase parity.

Carl peterson's job is twice as easy as Jack Steadman's was imo

Yes the curse is named Marty and this year San Diego experienced him.

Heh heh. I seem to remember his Chiefs teams destroying their opponent in the regular season finale, only to lose to an inferior team the next week due to piss poor coaching........

I'm guessing Welbourne played 1 snap over 50%.

We should get credit for the pass blocking downs where he stood there with his thumb massaging his small intestine.

Haha I don't think a lot of that stuff.... I think I've been pretty clear that I think any lack of success for the Dick Vermeil era is failure through the draft. There's one year left, if we don't get it done DV (and Carl yet again) has been a failure here, just like Marty. I think there was nothing wrong with Carl did trying to build a defense through the draft, he just didn't do it right. Even this year, when we're about to go out and spend money on free agents, I think it's very important we draft well because that's the easiest way to add quality players while staying under the cap. The problem is you paint me as some kind of Carl apologist because I don't have a problem with the methods he's tried to build a winner, because he's tried them all, where he's failed is the execution....

Of course, in your world everything is through black colored glasses and anything less than outright disdain and negativity towards the organization as a whole is viewed as being a "homer" or "apologist". You're right that I don't think I'd enjoy being a fan with your attitude, but I'm not going to tell you how to root for your team, I'd never do that, but I'm not going to sit here and listen to you rattle off blah blah blah forever like a PMS'ing woman because I don't think the roof is falling in all the time. Sorry.

I can see all the owners and GM meetings turning into a "Let's pile on Carl" fest.

The Cardinals laugh their asses off these days.

I'm guessing they all hope to secure a trade with the Chiefs each year. Lord knows if Carl got on the phone with Pioli he'd give up 2 complete drafts in a row for the Patriots 5th rounder in 2020.
