On November 22, 1963, when he was hardly past his first thousand days in office, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was killed by an assassin's bullets as his motorcade wound through Dallas, Texas. Kennedy was the youngest man elected President; he was the youngest to die....

Just wanted to post in memory of JFK.

I was only three months old when JFK was shot, but I've always found the stories people tell about where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news interesting.

I was four and with my mom at the grocery store. Someone at the store was listening to the radio (the shooting had been announced, and official word was yet to come). From what my mom told me, I noticed almost everyone in the store was crying, and asked why. She said she told me that a very good man had just died and today there would be people crying all over the world.

It was a very sad event for sure, signaled an era change IMO. But we had one Black and White TV, only 3 channels, ABC NBC and CBS. It seemed like it was the only thing on TV for two weeks. I can remember how glad I was when Ozzie and Harriet were back on.
