KEEP fuckING DOUBTING TINYEVEL!!!!!! (GOATSE-esque attention whore post)

So, I just got a bunch of the commercials I've written put onto vid and online. I know y'all say you hate advertising, but maybe you won't hate mine as much. I try to fight the good fight.

So, for those who care...TinyE's hilight reel (take that, Bobby Sippio!)

Attempting to make Coors Light relevant to young guys? Sounds like trying to sell ice to Eskimos. What were those corporate suits thinking?

Well, at the time, they were doing all those "..and TWINS!" songs. It made CL look like the beer for horny 21 year-olds (which it probably is) but they were alienating women and older beer drinkers (older being over 24).
So we made spots based on "The brotherhood of guy" i.e. the idea that your friends are your closest relationships at that age. We had some other good songs (i.e. "Sausagefest" about a party with too many guys) but they just produced Wingman and a few other guy-related spots and thenthey switched to an other agency and the frozen locomotive

We go through casting. We send out a spec (a general physical description of what type we're looking for) and then the casting companies put that out on the wire. THen, all the local actors who fit the spec go to a studio and do the spot in front of a video camera. We get a DVD of all those peoples' takes (many are painful to watch) and we choose who to call back. Then we have a live casting session of these "Callback" people with the director working with them. We ultimately pick a lead and backup for each role, and present that to the client. Many times a client will be uncomfortable with who we choose. We've had to go back and choose new people because someone was too heavy, too annoying, too unusual looking, etc.

Good job Tiny, the Coors one is world famous, and the directv ones I remember quite vividly. The 80's guy on the TGIF one is hilarious but I only recall seeing it maybe once or so, so I think you got screwed on that one. Cool stuff though bro.

Oh yeah I wanted to ask you, when are you gonna put in subtle subliminal Chiefs references in there. Like on the travel ones you coulda showed a 2 second clip of Arrowhead or something. Hmmm maybe I should be in TV

Great stuff E. I will have to consult with you in the near future.

Very funny shit. Some 'meh', but a lot of the time that comes down to what the corporation will or will not accept, Im sure.

Most impressive, though.

Define "wrote". Are they your creative babies, or did you flesh out the concept of some other head somewhere? Either way, they're the work of genius, and you will be remembered by future generations for the Wingman song. Whenever I'm at a concert and it's getting close to the end, I always yell, "Winnnnnnngmannnnnnn!"

If only you had a good market research firm to test future ads to be sure you're keeping this level of quality. If only....
