Luke Walton couldn't start for 20 teams. He is a decent backup, but he wouldn't be nearly as useful outside of the triangle. He's also overpaid. He's going to be the Lakers 3rd string SF next year.

The Lakers have some up and comers to worry about...Portland, New Orleans and Utah.

Hopefully the Bulls take Rose, trade Hinrich to Portland for LaFrentz's expiring contract and Jack...let Gordon walk...resign Deng and use that cap room in a few years to sign LeBron

Yikes.

You can't compare a player like Gaosl who scores off all the attention Kobe receives to Tim Duncan who draws the double-teams that make the Spurs offense work. Duncan didn't have his best offensive game, but Gasol wasn't better than him today.

Duncan needed to step up today...he's a super star. He didn't...they needed him offensively and he stunk up the joint. You can make excuses for him...he didn't even play that well defensively.

His final stat line looks good but he had little impact IMO...especially when it counted.

I agree that his play isn't as good as the statline may suggest, but he still wasn't the 5th best player on the court. No one other than Kobe outplayed him. And Duncan's defense was fine, he didn't play poorly on defense.

Of course...but why are you comparing Pippen to Gasol...Pippen compares to Odom in the triangle...Odom to Pippen is like Kobe to MJ...Odom is Pippen lite...hate to overuse that line but it's true. Odom is a multi-tool player just like Pippen minus the great defense.

But the Bulls never had a Gasol...and they never had a Bynum, either.

I'm not a Lakers fan...but I'm in awe of the team they have built...it's truly spectacular. They can dominate for years to come.
