Justin Miller waived

This is the most obvious waiver claim ever right? A 24 year old athletic cornerback that was drafted and played for Herm and has 3 NFL kick return touchdowns already. Could this be the Mark Bradley of defense? I'm sure other teams will put in a claim but not many are ahead of us on the priority list.

That's what i was afraid of. He seems like one of those guys with tremendous talent but doesn't have what it takes in the head.

Didn't read the repsonses yet but I've watched him since college through his time with the NYJ. He just never developed as a corner. Doesn't have any ball awareness whatsoever. He'd still be looking at the receiver as the ball was about to land right in their hands. Very good speed though and he's had some really nice hits on ST's. He has value as a KR, second best return average in league history IIRC. He'd be a nice pickup for KC.

Edited to add: Him and LJ would probably be good buddies - Miller was arrested for hitting a woman in the face about a year ago after leaving a bar.

Raiders claimed CB/KR Justin Miller off waivers from the Jets.

Miller was a hot commodity on waivers because he can be an explosive return man, but Oakland shouldn't be hoping he can cover anyone. That probably means he'll immediately join the starting lineup at cornerback. Miller is under contract for $520,000 this year and will be a free agent in March.

I'm pretty sure they didn't. It goes by current record once you're halfway through the season. Schefter says the Raiders, Dolphins, and Broncos were the 3 teams to put in claims. It doesn't speak well for him that the guys who have coached him in the past don't want him.

Justin Miller – New York Jets Cornerback
2008 – 1 game - 1 tackle, 0 PDs. Justin injured left foot in preseason game against NY Giants.
2007 – 2 games – 2 tackles, 0 PDs. Injured knee in 2nd game of season and put on IR
The NY Jets cut him to sign Ty Law.
Good luck with the Raiders.
