The I am drunk and calling Mecca out thread...

So... You told me numerous times, that I was wrong about Jake Long...

We argued about Dorsey. Gholsten, etc....

Wh proved himself the better player?

Are you willing to man up and admit that you were wrong? Or do you have more excuses?

Just curious... btw Malaluagua (who I have been high on) did NOT impress me in the Senior Bowl tonight... I would rather have Laurenitis... someone with more brains and discipline.

So when did it become a smart move to use the third pick on an " NFL prospect"? He is the QB at USC. Of course he was a prospect. No one ever said other wise. There is a reason USC and others advised Sanchez not to come out. They do not think he is ready and do not think he will go in the top 10 o r 15. I do not think he will either.

There is a long way to draft day and as I said before, that is just how I feel about him. Just an opinion. If I am wrong I will gladly admit to it.

Pete Carroll advised him to stay because Pete Carroll wants another NCAA Championship for Pete Carroll.

No shit! How could he look that kid in the face without blushing and say you will be better off not making 50 million plus next year? I think the kid from Oklahoma is crazy to go back. He can only hope to be as highly rated next year. He might and I say might be but has nothing to gain and everything to lose.

That to me is justification enough to say Jake Long was not worth his draft selection.
Bullshit. A few weeks ago the guard that plays next to him was in ESPN magazine gushing about how rarely they provide Long with help. He said the guy plays on an island for 90% of the snaps.

In my personal opinion you don't take a LT with a top 5 pick unless he is so good he will never need help. I didn't and still don't see Jake Long as that player, that doesn't mean he sucks it just means I didn't feel he would ever be the best LT in the league and that's what he needs to be for where he was picked.

People can disagree with me that's fine but this some on this forum have a very unhealthy Oline obsession of wanting to draft nothing but OL.

i dont think ANY LT meets this criteria

That and many of the great LTs did not start or played guard in their rookie years. The guy is pretty sharp on prospects but top NFL guys miss picks all the time. I would think the guy would just fess up and admit he missed this one.

I take everything a player says with a grain of salt.

I watched a lot of the Dolphins this past season, and the Dolphins sent a RB or TE to chip the DE on the outside rush quite a bit.
