Work with old people. Old people are growing in numbers so jobs dealing with old people are going to be in high demand.
Open up a home medical supply store and you'll be in good shape. Become an entrepreneur. Take some health classes, go to some conferences, and set up shop. Sell wheelchairs, liftchairs, beds, oxygen, sleep apnea machines (those are increasing in demand), diabetes stuff. Anything diabetic is going to be a big sale. Go for it. |

Open up a club modeled on The Biggest Loser. Winners get a lifetime membership to your club and memorabilia with your club's logo (for advertising). Maybe you could strike a deal with ABC and bring some of the contestants to give talks monthly. Offer reduced terms for high school students.

Become a farmer like Virgil and Hesiod. Make your farm completely green, and then open it up to tourists and visitors to see the farm of the future.

You're 30 years old, so I assume after you graduated you auditioned with theatre companies all over the country, yeah? There are companies that are looking for good, solid reliable actors who learn their shit and aren't giant divas. You can make a pretty decent amount of money if you get hired at one of those companies, and if that's not enough, there's always little bullshit side jobs at restaurants and stuff just to keep you afloat.
I know many people who live this way. In small towns in America, too. It doesn't have to be New York. This is the extreme, but for instance, there's even this one great company in Lanesboro, MN with a population of about 800 people. The company puts on shows year-round and the actors live and work in the community, which in turn supports them to bring in more tourists from around the area. It's a great little system. |

How would you like to work at UPS? They hire a lot for the holidays, and if you do real well, they hire for good. I know a couple of guys that drive for UPS and it's a legit career. They do well for themselves.

True, but at the same token I've talked to people that work for UPS in like the mail room making sh*t and hour and they say you basically have to work there for like 20 years before you can be a driver.

Don't listen to this shit, UPS is a horrible job. They will stick you in loading trucks off the KC James St site and it's absolutely HORRIBLE around xmas time. Alot of times won't get home til 1am. There's about 1 person per trailor that you have to get every pkg scanned and loaded, more than likely you won't be faster than the pickers up in the rafters that sort the pkgs down to your trailer so you will get backed up and it's just a HUGE pain in the ass. Not to mention its the picker's job to make sure the correct pkgs come to you, but you have to double check the zipcode of EVERY pkg because if you don't and they send down a pkg from somewhere else and you scan it, you will get marked down for a mis-scan and you can get fired after a few of them. You'll get a sore back and there's nothing you can do about it regardless of the way they tell you to lift, especially if you're like me and youre tall. The only thing about it was that they pay weekly.
