McDaniels losing his locker room?

http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showthread.php?t=88117

Quote:
All but buried amid the Brandon Marshall drama is Broncos coach Josh McDan- iels' benching of tight end Tony Scheffler for the game Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs for a non-injury-related reason.

"I'm a competitor and have worked extremely hard this offseason to be able to fight for a chance to make the playoffs," Scheffler said Friday. "Him taking that away doesn't sit very well with me or some of my teammates."
Scheffler has been frustrated by his reduced role this season — he has 31 catches for 416 yards in 15 games, after catching 40 passes for 645 yards in 13 games last year.

He apparently expressed his frustration to a few teammates after the Broncos' 30-27 loss last Sunday to Philadelphia, and Scheffler was informed Wednesday by an assistant coach that he would not be dressing for the game Sunday against the Chiefs and would spend the week of practice on the scout squad.

"To be honest, I haven't even heard from Josh," Scheffler said.

You just gotta believe the process. It's not about the best 53, it's about the right 53. If you buy in to the Patriot way, and fall in to the most fortuitous draft pick in NFL history, you too can build a dynasty.

Knowmo you're even more gullible then some chiefs fans who readily buy into whatever positive diarrhea the media wants to feed them.

The only thing McDouche has done is make worse an already good offense, burn a bunch of draft picks, and run off a lot of good players.

By far the best coaching asset on that team is the guy running the defense. If Bowlen were smart he'd send McDouche back to kindergarden and give the head coaching title to Nolan. In 25 years of football I can't ever recall at any level seeing a guy so obviously in over his head

That's the thing that gets me, I wonder if people realize the way the Patriots built that team had a ton of luck involved, it is not a repeatable process.

The way the Colts, Chargers, Eagles and Ravens have been built however is a repeatable process and plays odds.

First, you have to get a coach with fire in his belly who can help change the culture.

I'm still beside myself that they traded a 1st round draft pick for a ****ing dime back.

That was really ****ing dumb. I'm sure they think he's gonna be a starter or something, though.

Still dumb.

Dumber than any move Pioli made, IMO.

I just can't give that much credit to the Colts...

If the Chiefs had landed Peyton Manning in that draft, Carl Peterson would still be GM, everyone would love the guy, and the Chiefs would have been the most winning team of the decade, and we'd probably have a Super Bowl...

If you watched the Colts game this past week...

They benched their starting LT (interchangeable parts), let Addai play a series, Freeney only played on 3rd downs, and a lot of their defense sat that easily could have played...

and there was no freaking difference...Manning slightly overthrew Wayne and Clark in the 1st half (where Wayne was wide open for a TD, and Clark wide open for a 40 yard gain on 3rd down) otherwise they would have led 21-3 instead of 9-3.

There was no difference between Tony Ugoh and Charlie Johnson...no one on the Jets even laid a finger on Peyton Manning...

It's like the 99% rule around that guy...Harrison retires, 1st round pick Anthony Gonzalez lands on IR...all of the sudden Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon step in and they lose nothing...

Now we can keep chalking this up to Bill Polian...

or we can just acknowledge they landed a once in a lifetime player that just makes everything around him better...

INCLUDING the defense...

that defense is built around Peyton Manning...which is the crazy thing...

They are built to play with the lead...

Well after watching Maclin, Harvin, Crabtree, etc...

I'm officially pretty pissed off about the Tyson Jackson pick...I don't really even care if that guy turns out to be the best 5 technique in the history of the NFL...

You can throw out any WR, most of the high pick WR's from this class have been good, Nicks has outperformed Crabtree so far.

Give the Colts GM credit though he built 3 very successful teams, obviously he has a repeatable process.

Every time you post you continue to illustrate the fallacy of your idea that no one on here knows more than other people.

No bend but don't break defense is built to play with the lead.

Freeney and Mathis being good pass rushers simply means that they are good at their jobs, and a Tampa 2 defense needs undersized ends that get after the QB. They built that defense b/c their previous coach was Tampa 2 through and through.

And if you want to bash Polian, you might want to look at some of the other places he's been, like say Buffalo, where he built a team that went to 4 straight SBs, or Carolina, where in two years he built a team that went to the NFC title game, or perhaps Indianapolis.

And let's not forget who drafted Peyton Manning over Ryan Leaf, who drafted Edge over Ricky Williams, who drafted Dwight Freeney, Reggie Wayne, Robert Mathis in the fifth, Cato June in the 6th, who signed Jeff Saturday, Raheem Brock, Gary Brackett, Nick Harper, and Ryan Lilja.

But yes, I'm sure that the success of Dwight Freeney playing end, Mike Peterson playing linebacker (once upon a time), or Bob Sanders playing safety has to due with Peyton Manning playing quarterback.

That's a criminally stupid analysis.

There are 53 players on the Colts roster and all 53 were brought in by Polian.
