Post Superbowl Mock

This is my first attempt at a mock this year.

Chiefs Picks

1. Eric Berry, Safety, Tennessee - Best player in the draft falls to us at 5.

2a. Terrance "Mount" Cody, NT, Alabama - 370 lbs will be in 350 range at combine. Slides to 2nd round. Just what the Chiefs need is a NT that eats blockers.

2b. Daryl Washington, ILB, TCU - Chiefs upgrade the speed at linebacker.

3. Lagarrette Blount, RB, Oregon - Teams with Charles for a good 1 2 punch.

4. Dan LeFevour, QB, Central Michigan, A big, strong QB with a good, not great arm and more touch than Cassel will carry clipboard for a year then challenge for starter.

5a. Eric Olson, Center, ND, should start season at center

5b. Denario Alexander, WR, MU. Many have Barnes out of Bowling Green here lately, but I saw a lot more of Alexander play a lot more. He needs to work on routes, but he's reliable and is a big target.

5c. O'Brian Schofield, OLB Wisconsin - Schofield probably would've gone higher had he not been injured Senior bowl week. Schofield when healthy takes Vrabel's spot.

He punched a guy in the heat of battle. Yeah, it was classless, but there are a shitload of guys who have done far worse things and were far more productive.

In the NBA:
Dr. J, Larry Bird, Barkley, Kareem, Jordan, Kobe, Shaq have all gotten in fistfights either in the middle of the game or during practice.

In the NFL: Michael Irvin stabbed a teammate in the neck, Steve Smith broke Ken Lucas' jaw, Olin Kreutz punched out a teammate.

I think I'd take any of those guys.

If you don't think it plays in you don't know this market, there has already been a Shipley thread...I'm going to guess someone wanted to draft Brian Leonard.

Hell people loved Marc Boerigter when he really didn't do anything.

The point is Toby Gerhart is a bum in a time period where there are RB's everywhere, and good RB's at that why do you want a bum?

Some tips:

1) Don't ever call anyone a "true fan" on this board
2) This fan base has a disproportionate love for talentless white guys who do "dirty work". Boomer Grigsby, Marc Boerigter, Mike Maslowski, etc. It also tends to hate flashy players.

They way Gerhart runs wont translate to the NFL. Have you actually watched him play or have you just seen his stats and that hes white?

How can you say Gerhart is a bum. And yes Alstott was a fullback but if you guys knew anything about football you would know he and Dunn split carries at Tampa Bay..

I'm not impressed by a guy who took a ton of carries to roll up stats, putting up stats is not what translates to the next level.

Mark Ingram won the Heisman, he isn't even the best RB on his own team.

Once again you keep bringing up the fact that hes white. In all my posts i never mentioned anything but stats and character issues. It seems like we have some racists people that dont like white players??

Well I'd like to know why you like him then because he's not remotely as talented as Blount is or well a ton of other RB's in the draft.

Putting up stats is not what translates to the next level.. Are you kidding me.. Every college player is judged on how good they did in college.. In return that means what their stats are.. Success is based on results..

You think stats have to do with the NFL?

So every Heisman winner should be picked 1st? So the leading WR in college should be the 1st WR taken? It does not work that way, Freddie Barnes just broke a record catching like 150 balls, dude is like a 6th rounder.
