I'm fine with cold weather SBs, but it shouldn't be limited to just freaking NYC.

We would have another Jacksonville situation, which to my understanding, was a cluster-****. Superbowls need to be held in cities that have more attractions than just the Superbowl. These people are not just going to see the game, they are going on vacation, attracting high dollar business execs, celebs, etc. You need something to do for the week of the game, you need to have the proper transit system to support that kind of volume, and you need have enough Hotels to accomodate. All of which, are found in warm weather, tourist cities.

I understand why you would want the SuperBowl in a warmer coastal city... I really do, but I also don't know that having the game in a cold weather city is a bad idea.
Look at some of the greatest games played in cold weather, snow conditions... did it make for the prettiest presentation on tv? Maybe not, but you can't tell me the games weren't great. I could see issues with many of the 'non-game' festivities... Now, the SuperBowl that will be held in Dallas... we don't have NY weather, but it can be just as horrible that time of year down here. The stadium has the roof, so they can protect the 'visual presentation', but it didn't stop them from giving Dallas a SB game. The key factors regarding the city chosen should all be about how they can support the people, the events, transportation, etc.

There are just certain cities that just shouldn't host one. How do you pull off fireworks and a live half time show with a snow covered field? How do you get the stage and the hundreds of people and props, etc onto the field during a snow game? People are comparing Superbowls of 20 years ago to Superbowls of today, but things have changed way to much to make that comparison.

I don't think I could handle a Superbowl without fireworks, extravagant halftime shows, and a week of pregame hype. That's what the Superbowl is all about, right? **** the actual game. I don't think it's fair that Burt Reynolds couldn't go to be seen at the Superbowl because it was "too cold"......that just opens the door for all the regular people.

I think most posters here don't get how the Super Bowl works. Tickets don't go to local people.
Tickets go: 1. NFL Sponsors 2. NFL Office 3. 2 teams in the game 4. 30 other teams 5. Network partners 6. Local market That is why hotel rooms and convention space are so important in sites. Most everyone at the game is from out of market. |

Why would anyone want to journey into New York City with the insurgency in full swing? There are so many elements of danger, neither of which are getting enough coverage in the press, that should earn it a spot on the list of the worst destinations in the U.S.
No doubt the government has stepped up its suppression of the media, causing many to look towards alternative organizations for their news coverage. please don't quote me. ... The Egyptian Gazette NY man with guns arrested in Cairo Wednesday, May 12, 2010 Egyptian authorities detained a passenger arriving at Cairo airport from New York on Wednesday after finding guns, bullets and knives in his baggage, an airport official told AFP. Mohamed Ibrahim Marei, a US university professor of Egyptian origin, had flown in on an Egyptair flight from New York's JFK airport. Customs officials noticed the passenger looked nervous and decided to open his luggage. They found two handguns and 250 bullets hidden in metal boxes, the official said on condition of anonymity. In a secret compartment in the bag, authorities also found two swords, five daggers and six knives, he added. An investigation has been launched, the official said. ![]() The man had flown in on an Egyptair flight from New York's JFK airport http://www.egyptiangazette.net/news-...n%20Cairo.html

The NFL is reeruned. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they tried to host the Super Bowl in London or Tokyo in the future just to make it a true "world championship."

In reality... I'm never going to pay the $ to attend a SB, so I don't care where it is ... just make the TV presentation kick ass and I'm good.
