Yep. I just heard basically the same forecast. Just what these folks need who have already been hammered by this severe weather. Another round.

Yeah, tomorrow could be a rough day. I've been browsing a couple weather forums and some of the meteorologists on them have spent the night basically trying to come up with excuses why tomorrow won't develop. They all seem to agree it's a "textbook" setup for a major outbreak... many comparisons to the 1991 Andover, KS tornado outbreak. Already complaining that there are probably going to be a record number of storm chasers in Oklahoma tomorrow whether it happens or not because the setup is there. We'll see.

Just get me to the hotel by KCI safely tomorrow night and then into the air early Wednesday morning without incident.

Quick Update: The NWS has issued a High Risk area mainly in Oklahoma but also going into southern Kansas and a sliver of North Texas.
High Risk basically means Harold Camping-like predictions. Keep your eyes open, my friends. |

What? No Katie Horner jokes today? No complaining about too many warning updates while you're trying to watch Wheel of Fortune?

The NWS office is advising people in OKC to stay off the roads this afternoon. Sounds more like a snowstorm than severe weather.

The problem with the KC weather media is that they've made it a "boy who cries 'wolf'" situation. If there's no Katie Horner jokes about a day like today it's because we thankfully haven't quite forgotten what a wolf looks like.

Looks like storms are already starting to fire up west of Liberal KS. That's a bit further west then what they were predicting.
