This one still hurts
Christmas Eve supper with the family sucked. I expected to get let down and as a Chiefs fan I'm used to it but this one still stings so many hours later. I know any AFC West team is gonna get their butts kicked in the playoffs but it would've been nice to go into the final game with something to play for still. I just ask myself when is it finally gonna be our time?...

I was fired up about the game before it started, but that didn't last long. The game had a bad energy feeling to it in the first 10 minutes, from the Chiefs perspective.

Do you ever get that gut feeling early in a game about the way things are going to end up, one way or the other?

They came out flat and lethargic, completely opposite of the way they came out in against the Packers. I don't know if they were suffering from a "Packers hangover," or what it was, but I had resigned the fact early, that it was likely going to be a long day.

Did it put a dent in my Christmas, not one bit. It was a football game and in the big picture of life, not a big deal. Next to spending time with my family, a Chiefs loss doesn't even hit the radar.

Everyone says the AFC West is going to get their butt kicked in the playoffs, but I'm not sure that's the case. That's what could be frustrating. The conference is much worse than last year... I still think we might be better than the AFC South or East (minus NE obviously) Pittsburgh would be a tough matchup for the division winner, but Roethlisberger can't even move right now. Miller/Dumervil or Hali/Houston would be a real tough matchup for their O-line, with a QB who can't move.

Plus, if Oakland gets in as a wild card, they'll get the Texans, who they've already beat... and that was when they had Schaub and Mario Williams.
