Annoyance: Extraneous Words
My wife insists on using the extraneous word in the following: tuna fish.

Is there some other kind of tuna other fish? If not, why say it?

Also, "Pacific Northwest." Why is the "Pacific" part needed?

There's actually one thing I've never gotten, but it leans in the other direction.

I say I "graduated from high school" and "graduated from college".

Whereas many other people say they "graduated high school". No "from".

It just sounds weird to me.
