Romeo throws half of the team under the bus...

Yet another reason having him being DC and HC at the same time is a bad idea.

When asked about the tension and angst that's created when you get "kicked" on both sides of the line of scrimmage, he said (and I'm paraphrasing):

"I don't think that's accurate. I don't think we got kicked on BOTH sides of the ball. The defense played well. We made some mistakes late in the game and let them get some yards but I don't think the defense got 'kicked' at all."

I'm gonna say the biggest reason our rank is 32 is because they suck, from the coach on down.

well, the offense has given the Defense very very short fields. I wonder how many of the points came because turnovers for a very short field for the opponent.

The oppposing offense usually doesnt have a very big field. I know they have fumbled and intercepted quite a few times deep in their own side of the field.

But this whole team does blow right now. They just arent playing hard for gramps

This is not a toss the team under the bus statement. You need lessons from this guy to learn how to do that.

Yea, the defense just gave up 26 points to a team that was at or near the bottom in every offensive statistic. The fact is, the raiders were a two win team going into week seven...we still lost by two scores.

Our best players (who are actually pretty damn good players) are from the Herm era. Bowe, Charles, Hali, Flowers, and Albert were all left overs from the herm era. I'm not saying herm was a great coach, but we haven't exactly struck gold in the draft under Mr. Patriot Genius. This is one area Herm excelled at. I would be open to herm returning as possibly a scout. I've even heard his name thrown around as a possible GM...Take from that what you will.

Yep, the defense gets the raw deal more often than not. Think about it...

The defense intercepted the first pass of the game. The offense went three and out.

The defense held Oakland to a FG after Quinn was intercepted even though they started on the KC 45.

When the score was 6-6, Arenas muffed a punt giving Oakland the ball at KC's 14. Oakland gets a TD from there like they should and it's 13-6.

Cassel/Lilja muff the snap straight out of the gate and Oakland gets the ball on the KC 18. They hold Oakland to a FG.

Janowkowski wide right on a FG attempt. Jalil Brown was offsides. He gets to re-kick it and it's good.

13 of the 26 points were not on the defense imo.

RAC should not have spoken out. He should have just fired Daboll.

This D is slightly disappointing considering my borderline top 5 expectations but they' ve been put in bad position way too many times by turnovers and the offense won't give them a break. Overall, I think the D has done fine.

Here's the thing:

If Romeo Crennel is JUST the head coach, and not the defensive coordinator, he removes any potential conflict of interest.

As it is, there's no way he can make it look like he's NOT covering his own ass.

He should have kept his mouth shut.

Or hired a defensive coordinator.

After backing the bus over half the team, he should run a steam roller over the other half. Don't go half-assed.

i guess i would consider this to be "throwing them under the bus" if they weren't six shades of sh1t every sunday. I guess if you think he should have chucked the D and ST under with them then that's a fair criticism

Herm was an excellent scout of talent but he's a pathetic HC...
