Teicher: Ranking top 10 players Chiefs may take in NFL draft

Ranking top 10 players Chiefs may take in NFL draft
By ADAM TEICHER
The Kansas City Star
Here are the post-combine top 10 players the Chiefs should consider drafting with the No. 1 overall pick:

1. Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M. He’s the best player available in this draft. And it doesn’t appear to be close.

2. Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia. He’s far from polished and won’t be an immediate NFL starter, but he looks to be the best quarterback available in the draft.

3. Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan. He might not be on Joeckel’s level but he’ll have a good career.

4. Jarvis Jones, LB, Georgia. There are questions about a narrowing of his spine but he looks to be the best available defensive player.

5. Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama. The best available cornerback makes sense for a team with a huge need.

6. Chance Warmack, G, Alabama. Some teams will eventually regret passing up Warmack, even though he plays a position of lesser impact.

7. Jonathan Cooper, G, North Carolina. The same holds for Cooper.

8. Cordarelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee. Alex Smith will need someone fast to throw to.

9. Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida. He’s probably the top defensive line prospect now.

10. Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah. A medical issue likely will push him from consideration.

I don't understand why people are flipping out here. He moved Geno up to #2 on the list behind Joeckel.

That means once we re-sign Albert, Geno is #1.

This isn't just a list of 10 guys we might draft, it's a ranking of the top ten guys, in order.

According to Reid and Dorseys comments at the combine, the top priority after the combine was to work on getting our own players signed.

I wonder if this aligns 1:1 with a Mayock or Kiper ranking.

If Teicher can mail it in, he usually does.

If Dorsey is using this talk to pressure Albert, it's brilliant.

It's funny because Mayock, Billick, Marshall, et al spent a big amount of time talking about how Joeckel looked slow and without explosion. The spent a considerable amount of time talking about Eric Fisher and Lane Johnson and how there was very little separation between the three.

So for Teicher to say he's the best PLAYER in the draft "and it's not close" is just stupid.

Why give up picks for a guy that will never see the field?

Jason Campbell is a FAR better option than Alex Smith.

Oh, so you didn't wish for a member of my family to get raped BY YOU, you just wished for a member of my family to get raped.

Ever known someone who's been a victim? I'm guessing you don't, or you wouldn't be using it to measure your e-peen. Hopefully you never do.

You really exemplify that "chiefsplanet is a family" thing it says on the registration pages. But I guess saying you want someone else to rape someone in my family is all good with the TOS, whereas saying you want to do personally would not be. Thanks for respecting the rules and all!

Let's just lock up a contract with our new LT now and complete the Truefan-wet-dream-offseason...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

You're still whining.

Are you BlackBob's uncle? Did you rape him and now regret it, which is why you can't handle rape jokes?
