Well maybe if we spend less on the LT we'll be able to afford a quality RT too. If we trade Albert and then draft an OT were basically trading one OT for another. And there is a chance the guy we draft could prove to be a long term upgrade. I'm fine with keeping Albert but I don't see what's wrong with trading him to save some cap space while trying to improve the whole team. It might not workout then again it just might. If we would have just let Albert walk and drafted an OT at 1.1 that would suck.

Agree with Phil. I'm not saying it is optimal, but getting a 1st for Albert is NOT complete failure. Brandon Albert is good, but he is not irreplaceable good.

I've thought this was likely for awhile. If they planned on keeping Albert long term he would have been locked up while they were throwing money around like candy

Exactly. We could end up with two 1s and three 3s in the draft if that deal were done. Then if we could move that 1st pick we'd be rolling in daft picks. With the tackle market what it is I don't think there's any chance somebody trades for Albert though so
