How could you not possibly welcome this Eagles game?

This is going to be super intense.

This defense has proven itself as pretty goddamn good. It has shut Gabbert's Shitfest the **** down, and went toe-to-toe against the Cowboys air attack, bent a bit, rarely broke, and came out mostly victorious.

So let's do the next thing, right? Bring in a high-flying, super productive offense that seems to have no answer yet.

I want to see if this defense can fence in Vick. I want to see if LeSean McCoy can find any running room, because, repeat after me: you cannot run on the Chiefs.

I want to see how Flowers and Smith do on islands against DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin. Flowers should revert back to form now that he doesn't have to deal with a receiver who does not have Dez Bryant's nightmarish skillset.

I want to see how our nickels and dimes do against their tertiary receivers. I want to see if Jason Peters and Lane Johnson can keep Houston and Hali at bay.

I want to see if they ever, ever dare to single-team Dontari Poe again. (My guess is Hell to the No.)

Or how well can Akeem and DJ fly to the ball when Vick tries to scramble out.

I'm just approaching this from a defense-lover's standpoint. I've always loved defense, and this is probably the best defense we've had (so far) going on something like 15 years.

It almost seems to waste something this good on Blaine ****ing Gabbert. Give me the Chip Kelly Challenge every week of the year, and let's take this defense for a drive.

And his team is 1-1, and 0-1 at home, and has played two of the worst defenses so far in the league.

He wont have anywhere near those numbers this week......

It was interesting.

You may not have noticed, but I wasn't making projections.

I know. I was And I was just stating that the Redskins team that he demolished in week one, just gave up 480 to aaron Rodgers, and the Chargers team that just beat them, gave up a ton of yards to the Texans.

inflated numbers for sure.

The good thing about getting the Eagles on short rest is that they may not have the energy to go as fast. Then again, I don't think they actually went that fast on Sunday. A good thing about later in the year is that Vick would potentially be hurt, maybe even McCoy. Short week could make it hard for KC to get a solid game plan for the Eagles offense.

If the Chiefs get pressure, Vick should turn it over. The Chiefs stopped getting pressure in the second half against DAL, so I wonder how they would do tired against this offense.

Really going to be interesting in regards to the fronts and personnel used by KC.

Additionally, the s/e responsibilities in various personnel groups and alignments have me equally intrigued.

I'm just getting into this thread, so this may have been brought up already but...

I had this as a loss, until I saw a segment on Bob Sutton on the NFLN. Apparently, he ran this offense for 9 years when he coached college ball. Also, he studied Chip Kelly for years just because. Our D coordinator has got this, he knows the offense, therefore, he is goingto do what it takes. Plus their defense sucks. We really have a good shot at this game.

This would be a good game for Reid to actually let Charles run a lot. May need it to give the defense a breather. That and it being a hostile night game on the road. I am interested in how Sutton handles it. I have liked his mixtures so far. They aren't always going to work, but I still like most of his decisions.

I don't know if it's a "test" or not, but it IS a big game. I'm not calling it a must-win.

I think we may see this. The best way Alex is going to be able to throw the ball down field is off of the PA, and the only way to open that up is to run more. Like it has been mentioned a few times though today, it seems we have added a new dimension to our offense during each of these first two games.

I think that this is a game that Eric Berry will come in handy for. Put him up on the line and have him attack all day long.

Berry makes for a very interesting piece depending on what your scrape principles are in subs.

I don't like the short week to prepare for an explosive offense, and on the road no less.
That's what's keeping me on edge for Thursday.

I like our chances. Jackson isnt Dez, he isnt going to burn us in the intermediate or short range. I expect us to be aware of him going deep and roll coverage to his side.

I think our front 7 (8 if you count Berry) are good enough to contain Vick and Shady. Tamba and Houston are particularly good at containment, especially Houston.

I also think we run a lot more this week. My mate who is an eagles fan has been telling me their defense is terrible. About as bad as he can remember even. Our average offense could potentially look really good.
