Why wouldn't he have had this surgery in, say, February?

That's my thought. What could he possibly gain by waiting for the procedure? And which shoulder did he have surgery on? I'd assume it was his right.

It says he's been recovering from surgery, not that he just got it. For all we know, he got the surgeries done right after the season ended.

Good to hear since that's the probable case. There's plenty he can do in the weight room to stay in shape and gain muscle mass w/o slowing the progress of his shoulder. I'll be the "true fan" and assume his age will be an asset to a quicker recovery. I still believe the guy will be a stud on the left side.

I'd guess left. Pretty sure most of the pressures and sacks he gave up were to his inside.

Agreed, more than a few plays where it looked like he simply couldn't use his left arm, which is why it was so easy for players to make an inside move against him.
