Yes. The issue for the secondary is Gaines needs to be replaced by Nelson asap and Sorensen needs to stop being asked to be a LB.

It seems Peters wants to follow guys around the field from what I've read. Maybe it's time? Hard to watch us being beat by guys like Brown ect when they are being covered by Gaines or even, cough, Houston.

Seems a little to easy for another team to need a big first down and say, "oh lets put Brown in the slot so he doesn't get covered by Peters".

he's pretty decent in coverage.. having him play SS and relying on him to stick his nose in the box is another story

I'll say this... if that's essentially the play that lost us the game, that's not the worst way to lose the game as an undefeated team. Ball bounced off our DBs head and into the arms of the best WR in the league, not much else you can do about it at least he was in position.

You intercept the ball and put your team in a position to win the game. Or at least swat it down in a crucial moment.

Frustrating fluke play, but we have to be better in those moments.

Not much else you can do... other than not let the ball pass directly through your hands and bounce off your face?

Sorensen missed at least 6 tackles in that game.

He was an outright liability.

He's actually quite athletic when compared with his peers.. there is a reason he's always in the right place.. he's fast, smart, and is a ballhawk. The only reason you say he's not athletic compared to his peers is because he's W-H-I-T-E.

Anyway.. he's not fundamentally sound from what I can see. My proof? watch him tackle. More specifically, #84 on the Steelers' touchdown.

and no, i dont care about 40 times

I agree with you, but the flip side to this is that we can expect decent football out of Sorensen, which makes his game more disappointing. I can't expect good football out of Gaines any more than I can expect my dog to cook me dinner.
