This loss shows deeper problems than a few players

The way that we lost this game speaks to more than just a couple of players or plays.
This loss speaks to problems deep within. I think we have severe problems within our coaching staff if not further up than that.
We are spiraling down and it appears to be untenable to the staff we have in place even with the help of a bye week.
I have always been a Reid fan, but a lot of the problems he had in Philly have followed him to KC. His play calling, inadequate game prep, stubbornness, strategy, clock management. His inability to make coaching changes and bring his family in and unwillingness to move on from them when they are obviously not working are problems that we all now face as well. There is a lot of parallels between our staff here and the ones he had in Philly.
If we are to change our losing ways some of this staff is going to have to be replaced. Where do start? Who are the coaches/assistants that need to be replaced? Even now instead of waiting until the off season.

This team is broke, they are not a team.

I thought they had turned the corner in that regard earlier in the season. Philly and Washington punched them in the mouth, and they were able to right themselves and grind out wins. But since 5-0, they've reverted to their bad past.

100% agree. They have no leadership. With Eric Berry out (who is an AMAZING competitor), No one has stepped up to lead and drive everyone to play better and more disciplined as well.

The coaches can’t play the game for the players. You and I will disagree as to whether this team has too much chicken manure to turn into chicken salad. You’re saying it’s the coaches fault they can’t make more chicken salad and I’m saying there’s too much chicken manure to do that.

I definitely agree with the strength and condition coach. WTH is up with all the Achilles injuries?

Andy Reid is a stubborn bastard with horrible play calling and Alex Smith has regressed to the twin of Matt Cassel

He should be turning towards the middle of the field, meaning cut inside, he is in a awkward position. He had is guy beat all he had to do was run up straight and not towards the outside. why is he looking for the ball in that position. It was an easy throw had he cut inside when he had his guy beat because there was no safety either. I was scratching my head why he kept running to outside. However I do knock on Alex for the interception in the 4th quarter on his overthrow. Its not just Alex, they are playing bad as a unit. The offense line and run game is total trash now. I see guys with no dude to block. That's where it comes down to coaching, Andy has never been a guy who adjusts well to difficult situations. You come of having a week off and lose to the giants, something is clearly wrong with the team. Alex, coaches, the run game and the o-line and wide receivers all have to improve. You can be open but you still have to be in the right position. Like don't keep running to the outside when you have your guy beat, cut back in to increase your chances of completing that throw.

No, no, and hell no. Toub needs to go. His special teams are worthless. Too many penalties and dumb mistakes. I'm tired of seeing his KO Return team routinely run the ball 10-12 yards then getting stopped before the 25 yard line.

KC played the steelers and exposed how to defend KC's offense. Here's what you do:

Shut down the running game and their gimmick college shit, and ask Alex to drop back, read a defense, and throw the ball.

Regardless of who you blame, the OL, Alex, WR injuries, or whatever else, that's what KC simply can't do well.

I don't have a coaching background, but I don't think I need one here.

I agree. Teams are keying in on stopping the run. Their forcing Alex to beat then with a traditional passing game, and he can't do it.

While the last month or so of football has sucked, in the end I think its good for the Chiefs.

1. Its easier to move on from Smith to Mahomes now.
2. Better to hit your grove and be healthy headed into the playoffs not week 10 or whatever it is.
3. We still lead the division by two games, which is amazing.
4. We lack quality depth at some key positions (OLB, RB)
5. Hey nobody is going to be stealling any of our coaching staff now!

Us long time fans of 40-50 years have lowered the bar so far for this organization that making the playoffs and winning a single game or finally drafting a QB in 1st RD after 27 years feels like a Super Bowl to us.

So sad........

Good enough for who it's for. People want to get drunk, act like idiots, get into fights, etc. The last time I went to a Chiefs game, I thought I was at a wrestling match.

The fans accept the winning regular season and perpetual mediocrity that comes with ownership hiring fired coaches and benched quarterbacks.

I don't blame Kelce, he got targetted and concussed earlier in the season. There is more to life than football. Good quarterbacks don't throw their players into big collisions.

It's a job to these players, sports have changed because of the huge amounts of money. As long as the stadium is full of fans paying $45 to park and can get as drunk as they want without fear of being pulled over on the way home, this is what I think we will get.
