So how does this change our draft strategy?

Now that Veach pissed away our first what would you do with these picks? Trade up? Down? Stay put? Position you'd attack? Specific players? Defensive heavy, offensive heavy? Are we more needy and less BPA, or the opposite?

Round 2 #29 (61)
Round 2 #31 (63)
Round 3 #20 (84)
Round 5 #29 (167)
Round 6 #28 (201)
Round 6 #41 (214)
Round 7 #2 (216)

There's still ammo available to move around if somebody they love falls and they have a 5, 2 6's and a 7 to take flyers on.
BPA with the ability to move a little if needed. I find it hard to fault Veach very much so far this off season unlike some of my CP brethren.
I'm with you. I'd still target specific talent and move around, ideally I'd pkg a 2019 & 2020 2nd + Whatever else is needed for a Patrick Peterson.

I think with our 2-2's, we have a good shot at getting either of these 2,

Joe Juan Williams-Vanderbilt, CB/S

Lonnie Johnson - UK, CB

I would be happy with 1.

I would be thrilled and spinning with both!

Bonus, 3rd - Montgomer RB, ISU
or take a LB or OL.

Sounds good now, but we can't afford him plus the moves we need to make in the next few years.

Draft young, build them up, we have made several moves for win now, time to put more cookies back into the jar.

I'm just not convinced a WR is a higher priority than a TE. If we were looking at the starting 11 today, we'd have Hill and Watkins as #1 and 2, with DRob as the probable #3. Don't forget Kemp, Dieter, and Coates. We have Kelce as the #1 TE and a whole lot of dreck behind him.

Even if you're a gloom-and-doomer about Hill, no rookie is going to make up for his absence.

I agree oldman. Year after year quality WRs are available through FA/trades. TEs are harder to find (just ask the Donkeys, they've been looking for years) and I would even put OL above WR because if you give PM time and he can make any WR look good. Protecting the franchise has now become an issue for the Chiefs because, for the first time since Montana, they have a franchise QB to protect.

I'd say that makes sense. Chiefs may feel the guy they have as their 5th rated CB is available at 61

Will Foster Moreau be there in the 5th round?

I think he'd be a great TE #2

Yes. Either him or Mack. But assuming we don't trade up I think anything is on the table in rounds 2 and 3.

They are completely setting themselves up for BPA excluding D-Line talent. So there's a shot of a WR, TE, even O Line, in rounds 2 and 3.

What I don't see happening is us taking a safety AND corner in the second round. I don't think the value will be there for both. Probably just one.

I think the original strategy of "Let's Piss Off All Our Fans" is still in play, Mr. Iconic.

No chance Winovich or Greedy fall to 61...right?

I still think Veach might trade up.

Pissed away our first? You are CRACKED if you think we were going to find any talent close to Frank Clark at #29. Look at the recent players taken at the 29th spot in the draft. The 2nd next year means nothing to me because it's going to be a very late 2nd (hopefully 64).

The second round pick they traded is the one they got from SF. You don't want it to be #64. ;-)
