Top 5 is so hard. Just reading through everyone’s lists and I keep wanting to change mine. A movie is good if I can watch it over and over again. That list is pretty long.

another adaptation for Western audiences. the low budget Lone Wolf & Cub movies weren't done very well tho. The Mandalorian is a more direct comparison and may end up the most popular too.

They remade Conan? Why?

Road to Perdition is one of those movies that was really good but I couldn’t bring myself to watch it again.

**** Red October is another good ass movie. ****. Top 5 is hard man.

My top 5 has been set in stone for a long time. Below that is pretty much set in stone, although recent addition 1917 cracked it.

Some others that should be mentioned:

Excalibur
The Usual Suspects
Seven
Unforgiven
Both Blade Runners

I guess that rounds out my top 20.

I had some hope that the new Conan would be okay, since it featured Mamoa as Conan and Ron Pearlman as his father. But it was so bad I couldn't even finish it. Not sure if it's as bad as the '84 sequel, which I wish I hadn't finished.

I like Road to Perdition nearly as much as the Godfathers. Newman is fantastic. The scene with him and Hanks in the church basement gave me chills.

And speaking of underrated mob movies, I'm reminded of Millers Crossing. ****. Top 20 is hard!

The first two are locked into my top five. The next three could rotate in with any of the movies on the honorable mention list. It's a whisker separating all of these movies.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Groundhog Day
Pulp Fiction
The Red Violin
Apollo 13

Honorable mentions:

A Fish Called Wanda, Inglorious Basterds, The Life of Brian, The Great Escape, Almost Famous, Young Frankenstein, Stand by Me, Titanic (yes, I said it), Forrest Gump, Cast Away, Little Miss Sunshine, Raising Arizona, Election, Napoleon Dynamite, When Harry Met Sally, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Back to the Future, Yesterday, Star Wars, Saving Private Ryan, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Big Fish, The Last Time You Had Fun
