I did a thing and bought my first truck

As the title says, I bought my first truck ever yesterday. I've always had cars due to cost, fuel economy, etc etc and I've always wanted a truck but they can be GD expensive. I had been looking for a while and finally just bit the bullet and went for it.

2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn

Anyways, I don't have a lot of friends to share it with and stuff so I figured I would share it here.

This is true from what I have seen. Just about any Ram fleet trucks I've seen contractors working out of you see the signs of wheel wells beginning to rust through along with the bed. I've talked with them and they love them though.

I like the tailgate on the GMC. I dont really NEED to drive a truck, but I love it. I fill it once in a while. Full bed of grass, yard waste. Moving crap.

If I didnt, I would be driving a Challenger or some old cool car.

Next to my college education, the trucks I have owned have been the best money I have ever spent.

GM hasn't put a decent interior in a vehicle in 30 years.

But the GM exterior takes everything sharp about the Chevy's and puts a legitimately excellent nose on it. They're beautiful pickups. But I spend most of my time around my truck looking at the inside of it, not the outside. So for me it's all about interiors. And man oh man, the interior of these new Rams is just tits. It's a Mercedes with a bed on it in there.
Man I drove I think it was an 18 Ram when my last one got t-boned and the GM interiors were way better. I don’t remember the trim level of the Ram but it was higher than my dads Silverado LT. What I ended up with was a 2500 Silverado LTZ. Then I put a pronghorn box on it. Interior is fine. Other than I think it’s got some static issue because on all my other ones I’ve used a microfiber to get the dust off the dash and these new ones won’t get it up. But the interiors are fine.

But I agree. I like the styling of the GMCs far better than the Chevy.

I'm a minimalist and the interior doesn't bother me. It's a ****ing Denali FFS.

The auto-drive assist is something I've been waiting on for a while. Mileage wise I'll be ready to trade in about 6 months........
Isn’t drive assist on the 22 denalis? I’m so down for that. I hope it will work on a county road. LOL

I can't speak to the 18s (last gen). But the new Ram interior is stunning.

I bought my Ford in 2011 because of the interior of the Chevy and then the interior on my dad's 2017 was identical to the 2011.

I mean my old man's been buying Chevy pickups since I was 8 - by all rights I should be a Chevy fan. But I have always found those interiors pedestrian as hell.

Welcome to manhood...

Seriously, I would never go back to a non-truck car anymore. I suppose cars are good for people that don't do much. Don't build much. Don't load up with coolers full of meat and beer much.
