Chiefs interested in Jarvis Landry

https://nfltraderumors.co/browns-hig...eams-to-watch/

Thoughts on this one? Mahomes has never had a WR like Landry. He and Kelce would feast together in the intermediate passing game. Interesting.

I would like to find someone like Kenny Britt, Mike Williams, Mike Evans or Julio Jones.

No easy task

I don’t care how we do it. 5 yard passes. 7 yard passes. Teams are begging us Patrick to be Alex Smith and now he needs to be to get these teams out of that cover 2/3. If teams have 3 safeties back defending the deep ball you kill then in the shallow to intermediate area of the field until you force them to get out of it.

We need a savvy route runner who wins in the middle of the field…not a deep burner.
Get a decent pass catcher out of the backfield and call it a day. If Jet McKinnon could be trusted to hold up for a full season, he'd be perfect.

Otherwise, I easily see Landry coming here not nearly cheap enough. If he gets cut, he's probably going to expect something just under what he got with the Browns, which is way too goddamn much. And **** trading for this asshat.

When McKinnon works they'll just stop using him.

He was, at some point, considered good and had high Madden ratings

Am I supposed to pretend those days never happened?

Landry would pull coverage that Pringle cannot do. Pulling coverage from Kelce, and Hill will be the primary duty of whomever we get. Remember that was Watkins bitch when he went to the Ravens. He was not "featured" but to allow for more one on ones for Hill, and Kelce.

In his last 4 seasons he has a catch rate of 60%.

That isn’t the mark of someone who gets open or has good hands. Or is a possession receiver.

Kelce, by contrast, is at 71% for his career and has NEVER been below 68% on a season.

Landry isn’t a good player. The nebulous defenses of him are myths born of being force-fed the football 5 years ago.

Never in a million years would a team change how it defends Travis Kelce or Tyreek Hill out of fear of Jarvis Landry.

C’mon folks - you’re not thinking this through.

Do you think Landry is worse than Watkins?

By a LOT.

Watkins presented a credible threat to run the deep outs and post-corner routes that murder Cover 2s and is elite with the ball in his hands to make Cover 3 a real risk.

Landry provides NONE of that. Not a bit of it. He’s just a guy who’s willing to go over the middle. So what? So is Pringle. And unlike Landry, the Chiefs can (and later in the season DID) use Pringle on those post-corner and deep out routes.

Landry is nothing but a name at this point in his career.
