The point is, when he hits a hole he has a chance to break it to the house. He very much seems like a RB who need 10+ carries to get into a rhythm

People say that about a lot of RBs and for the vast majority of them, they just need volume so they can finally break one that makes their numbers look better. They didn't get any better, but the gamblers fallacy finally broke in their favor.

I have rarely put much stock in the 'he needs rhythm' thing. Because man - tough shit. This is a big boy league and you eat what you kill.

If you don't EARN 15 carries, you aren't entitled to them. We're not going to feed you the ball 10 times and get nominal production from them so we can finally get 5 decent carries from you in the 4th quarter.

Produce or walk, fella. This league isn't about making things more palatable for 7th round RBs. If you can't MAKE Andy give you the ball by being productive in the first and second quarter, I really don't give a shit about getting you in a rhythm.

Because again, for the vast majority of RBs, its just bullshit anyway.

Yep.

If Pacheco is an actual threat to take it to the house on any given play, he shouldn't need volume.

Not only that, but the Chiefs averaged 9 yards per play on offense yesterday. Obviously there were 4 or 5 big plays in there, but the fact remains that if you keep feeding someone who's < 4 YPC on the prospect that a big play might happen eventually, you're slowing the offense down, not speeding it up. Especially when big plays are happening when other guys get the ball.

There are only 50 or so touches in a game, and if you got 5 of them and didn't produce, giving you 5 more doesn't make sense. That's 20% of our chances devoted to you *because* you didn't produce?

He did have one longish run, but you don't get more volume because you're not producing...

I don't think running between the tackles is Clyde's forte, which is an obvious statement at this stage, but they keep trying it. He's a bang average player who might be helpful in the passing game or in space, but inside runs he doesn't have any feel for.

It's clear we have a RBBC situation and will all season, regardless of who gets the first few reps.

The best thing about CEH not being labeled the starter is we clearly didn’t focus so much on trying to shoe horn in touches for him every series.

I don't know what there is to complain about regarding Pacheco yesterday. Other than not getting more carries. If not for a penalty, he would have averaged 6 yards/carry and had an excellent kick return. He's clearly the most explosive and talented back.

Are you talking about the 2 holds that opened up a huge running lane? If not for that? Come on...

I'm not sure that would have made a difference on that play, but ok....5.4 yds/carry and an excellent return.

You are talking about the run that got called back when Thuney literally clothes lined a guy that was in the backfield and probably would have tackled him for a loss, right? How would that not have made a difference?

It may or may not have. He doesn't go down as easily as the other backs.

Doesn't take away the fact that he juked a couple defenders after that.

You're either Clyde's dad or the dude that Pacheco took carries from at Rutgers. Which one is it?

The starter in this offense is more of a title than anything. Pretty sure McKinnon led the backfield in snaps yesterday.

All good with the 3 headed monster to promote competition and to keep them fresh. I do like that Pacheco has earned close to equal snaps though, he seems to be the most dynamic runner of the group.

You, sir, are correct.

In fact, McKinnon has led the backfield in snaps every week except for week 4.
