With the loss of Kelly Oubre to the draft and the uncertainty with Brannen Greene and his injury, Kansas was in desperate need of a scoring wing with size. The Jayhawks filled this void with the commitment of LaGerald Vick.

Ranked No. 49 in the 2016 Top247, Vick has not officially decided yet if he will in fact move back into the 2015 class and play for Kansas next season. An official decision should come before the end of the month. A move into the 2015 class is expected to be the decision.

Both Vick and his coach Norton Hurd spoke glowingly about about Kansas head coach Bill Self.

"One of the main reasons LaGerald picked Kansas is the player development under Coach Self and his staff," said Vick's coach Norton Hurd of Team Thad. "He could become a Ben McLemore type player."

Vick had this comment concerning Kansas and Coach Self:

"I like the system that Kansas runs. I watched a couple of their games this year. Also, Coach Self kept it real with me. I enjoyed my visit, and I trust Coach Self."

An athletic three-level scorer at 6-5, Vick has steadily improved the last couple years while playing for Memphis (Tenn.) Douglass High School and playing for Team Thad in the Under Armour Gauntlet series. He had committed to SMU in the fall. After decommitting, Vick considered Kansas, Kansas State and Kentucky. Vick visited the two Kansas schools, and committed to Kansas a couple day after having visited the Kansas campus.

Ranked No. 92 in the 2016 247Sports Composite, Vick would push Kansas to No. 6 in the 2015 247Sports Composite Recruiting Rankings if he moves to the 2015 class.

Kansas led Kentucky in his Crystal Ball.

Not sure why I ever doubted Self.

Another solid, solid class coming in.

Now, if we can just **** Mizzou and steal JW3 from them, or spring of ****ing up other schools will be complete.

You're very bad at math if you think even half were kicked off their teams. We've had a lot more transfers than just White, Allen, and Lucious.

Well, when they're going to win a conference title every year, then sure.

Former Jayhawk Scot Pollard reportedly will compete on ‘Survivor’

BY LISA GUTIERREZ
lgutierrez@kcstar.com

Why does this news just seem oh-so-right? Reports have surfaced that former KU and NBA player Scot Pollard is set to compete on a new season of “Survivor.”

The “Inside Survivor” blog reports that the 40-year-old former Sacramento Kings center will appear on the show’s 32nd season, which will have a theme of “Survivor: Brawn vs Brains vs Beauty II.”

You decide which one of those categories Pollard fits.

The show is scheduled to air in February of 2016 — a perfect run-up to next year’s March Madness.

The blog notes that Pollard will be the second retired NBA player to appear on the CBS reality show. Cliff Robinson finished 14th last year on “Survivor: Cagayan.”

Check out NBA.com’s “14 Reasons Why Scot Pollard Will Win Survivor.” We couldn’t agree more with that prediction.

To say that Pollard fans are hyped by the report is an understatement.
