Peters Suspended

One game. Per Andy.

Summary from Andy (paraphrase) : Best for organization. Talked to Peters. Difficult to do as I like Peters.

He may have been grateful that KC was willing to overlook his college rep early on, but for whatever reason that gratitude is now gone, and it's highly doubtful his attitude improves with time

Also, the idea that Berrys return will help bring him back inboard is naive IMO... the only person who can rein in Marcus Peters is Marcus Peters

Shop him to the highest bidder in the offseason, he is very good when he wants to be, but is certainly not irreplaceable
I want to see how he acts when he gets back from the suspension before I jump to any conclusions. Hopefully he has learned his lesson. He is a hell of a talent and I want him to stay but only if he is going to be a good teammate.

As far as the Berry part - I don't think he has any significant influence over him now but if he played this year he would. It is well known Berry was the one person Peters respected and listened to and not just Peters but the whole team.

"When you put in work and put everything into the process, the product is always going to be good," Berry said after beating Atlanta. "There's no reason to be surprised. We can clean up some things but there's no reason to be surprised or get too high about this win. We still haven't reached our ultimate goal, so there's no reason for us to act like we did."

Berry talks like that all the time, meaning he's a coach's dream and a teammate everyone in the organization can rely on. In the Chiefs' locker room after the victories over Denver and Atlanta, head coach Andy Reid asked one player to speak to the team - Berry.

Peters was quick to use the words ‘Leadership’ and ‘Courage’ when referring to his inspirational teammate. "Just for him to come back and fight from what he was going through, for him to come back like nothing has changed. He’s been out here, he’s been an excellent guy in the room for us to learn from," Peters said about Berry.

Damn nearly 100,000 in game pay and fines. Been an expensive tantrum for Mr Peters.
