Come on man. You shit on Crabtree over "drops" as well, saying now Kaepernick has a real target in Boldin. It's always someone else's fault.

Alex Smith in attempts 31-40 in games: 17/26, 7.19 YPA, 3 TDs, 1 INT, 109 rating. So in other words, he’s not getting worse the more he throws… he’s getting better.

Smith on 3rd and 9+ yards: 9/15, 10.1 YPA, 1 TD, 0 INT, 116.3 rating.

Smith in the 4th quarter: 16/22, 7.86 YPA, 2 TDs, 0 INTs, 125.8 rating.
Nobody ever said his arm would wear down after throwing the ball 30 times. The point was the more he was asked to do the lower his numbers would be, specifically qb rating and it is lower by about 10% compared to last year when he had less attempts per game. I thought it would go down about 20% with 35+ attempts so 10% is acceptable if he can maintain that over the course of the season.

WTF you talkin' bout, yo? If the ball hits a receiver in the hands, who else's fault should it be that he don't catch the shit?

The Chiefs have the 6th largest drop percentage so far. No one is crying about it, because we are winning... but pointing that out is certainly a way to explain optimism for the offense.

Meaning....

... when KC minimizes having the 6th most drops...
... when KC minimizes having the MOST offensive penalties in the League...

That is when the offense will move the chains mo better.

Add to this, Jamaal Charles is ranked 26th for RBs on success rate.. ouch.. not his fault.. mostly the play formations and run blocks are his enemy here.

The Chiefs... despite being the most offensively penalized.. and despite having committed the 6th most dropped passes... now sport the 11th best offense for efficiency. Thoughts on that?

That's crazy, those types of mistakes usually kills a team (i.e. the Raydahs). It's a common thing to see with a new everything (coaches, playbook, personnel, etc.) and it puts more stress on the QB to have to overcome those things. I trust that with time these mistakes will happen less frequently and can't wait to see the results. Things are trending upwards and looks like the offense will be pretty damn efficient.

Anyone take a good look at the blocking fail on the Bowe TD pass? JFC..

4th Q - 3:15 left

10 man box w/ NYG in a 3-4 and the S at LB level... the RE blew up Schwartz easily to converge on the QB hit just as on the other side... McGrath and Sherman let the 2 pt stance #91 split right between them to get to the QB.

if you follow the pattern of Alex Smith, he actually gets BETTER as the season goes on.

His completion percentage last year actually went up, the further the season went on.

Not saying hes going to approach 70 percent.

Not with the drops. No matter how bad anyone wants to dismiss it.

And yes. Drops were a problem the last two years in SF. And no, it wasn't just crabtree.

It was Walker, and Vernon, and Frank Gore.

Hell, last season, Delanie Walker, (could be off on this) dropped 30 PERCENT of catchable passes.

Shrugs.

I do find it funny. People complain about the passes that Alex Smith wont make, but then totally dismiss wide receivers who cant catch passes when they are open. But, dismiss it.

That's nice, but again nothing to do with my post or the knock on him. It had nothing to do with stamina in a game or season, just the more is asked to do the more some of those over inflated numbers such as passer rating and comp % would come down and they have some, but not as much as I thought so far.

Tends to happen when the WR A team is in the hospital and the B team is on the field.

Is it the same case of blaming receivers for drops on poorly thrown balls like we heard with Matt Cassel the whole time he was here? Sure these are pro receivers, but at some point they shouldn't have to guess where the ball will be delivered.
