I never use 'em because they fall into a weird middle ground. There are easier ones ones and there are stronger ones. I almost always use a simple slip because I'm not worried about it breaking most of the time - it's not permanent. And if I'm making a permanent one I'll use a bowline or something.

But this WASN'T A ****ING NOOSE! This knot was probably a basic loop or a bimini. Which is absolutely perfect for its intended use.

People are just real dumb.
Well I'm just glad that there are so many people that can definitively tell the difference between a noose and a non slip or bikini knot from a blurry still image and a 2 second video clip taken 20 feet away.

For the record, I'm not saying this was an act of racism. In fact, based on the evidence I'd say it was a big old case of nothing.

But everybody acting like they know exactly what knot it is without having seen anything more than we have is what I'm pushing back against.

Also for the record, I cant tie a knot to save my life but I did boy scouts and we didnt spend much time on nooses. I stand by my assessment that theres one group of people who would know a noose from a grainy picture.

They could've, y'know, tugged on it.

If it doesn't close on your hand while trying to yank a 100 lb garage door closed, it ain't a noose.

And of course it wouldn't have done so because at some point it would've come undone and nobody would've tied it BACK into a noose. Because breaking your hand when a garage door yanks a rope closed around it would be less than ideal.

It's. A. Loop. Knot.

You don't need a goddamn microscope to know this. Just use your head.

Isn’t the intention of the person who tied it what’s really important? Clearly that person knew it wasn’t a noose.

If Bubba Wallace’s team is too ignorant on the subject to find out what it is and what it’s for, then that’s really nobody else’s fault.

If I'm Wallace and my team isn't smart enough to understand that there's a zero percent change that's a friggen noose, I'd get myself a new pit crew.

Then again, if I were Wallace I'd go on Don Lemon's show and insist that it IS a noose, so I'd be just as stupid as my mouth-breathing pit crew.

Why is it that we make fun of the fact that anytime a tornado comes through, the news finds the dumbest hayseed imaginable to shout "IT WAS A TORNADERS!" but constantly ignore the fact that the same news media constantly trots a stream of reeruns in front of the cameras to shout "IT WAS A RACIST!"?

Because the sole remaining question is whether or not Wallace is a liar or a ****ing moron.

He had the perfect opportunity to be reasonable, but he decided to look like a ****ing moron instead. It’s really nobody’s fault but his own at this point.

Could’ve just thanked everyone for their support and expressed relief that it was all a misunderstanding. He could still say that even though this wasn’t a hate crime, there is still racism in the world that needs to be dealt with appropriately.

And so begins the backpedal tour....

Maybe you shouldn't have gone on a national news show and insisted after all the evidence had been brought to light that anyone who DIDN'T think this was a racist gesture was a bigot.

Wallace can fist himself. Dude is completely full of shit.

EDIT: He did exactly what Smithandrew said he should do. After he did the dumbest possible thing he could do, thus making his weak followup completely ineffective.

For the record, the 'alternatives' included not being a reactionary dipshit, at best, and a flat out race-baiting charlatan at worst.

No, Bubba, there are a bunch of alternatives that were preferable to what you and your team did.
