as somebody mentioned before: If they were filming the advanced scout doing his job, then surely the advanced scout would have known better than to film the sideline of the team they are playing next week....

I think what will matter is how they are perceived in 30 years. I hear Oakland were cheaters (just going off what I read. Being in same division you guys know more) and their GM or owner (can't recall which) became crazy towards end of his life. It seems like in 2019 they are seen as a good organization.

I wonder how we will be perceived in 30 years. Being 26 I should hopefully be alive to see it.

Bill belichick is so obsessive about knowing everything he created a culture that lectures people about gum wrappers on the floor. Yet he totally forgot to get permission to tape the team he's playing next week? Yet he had some contractor go rogue on him without his knowledge? Yeah, nobody outside of New England is buying this bullshit.

yeah....this is another thing that bothers me. I've done plenty of work as an "independent contractor", and I cannot think of one time that I did things outside the scope of work I was performing for my client. Yet, we're supposed to believe that an independent contractor, in this example, went outside the confines of their scope of responsibility, to record something on their own that also happens to be illegal, all while the people they are supposed to be documenting (the advanced scout) was either (a) not around or (b) sitting right there but did nothing to stop the process......Doesn't take much to connect the dots....

Yup. Now imagine that managed by an organization with a gus fring level of detail orientation. Mistakes simply don't get made. Unless they want you to believe it.

Let me explain the bias in a different way.

I do not get too involved in these discussions as some folks will show their bias toward the teams and jersey more so than the underlying event.

For example in 2009 the Jets were caught tampering with kicking balls, employees were fired and no one cared. In fact, one cannot really find a contemporaneous article on the matter. It was well below the radar.

In 2014 Brady was accused of tampering game balls and we has a nationwide event that went on for a long time.

Same crime widely different followings and opinions.

I did not bother getting into the T Hill case as all the facts were not out yet. But folks that did not like KC went off against Hill saying he should be suspended. A good number of fans went off on Hill and KC, some of which were just bias and went beyond what the facts justified.

This is my point.

Again, i am going to be really interested to see how all this plays out, plus or minus against the Pats

Can we change the thread title to ‘Cheaters filming Bengals’ ?

In fact, can we just change the programming for the board so that when someone types Pats or Patriots, it automatically shows up as ‘Cheaters’? Kind of like some of our other ‘replacement’ words.
