Exactly. This isn’t difficult, but it won’t stop people from continually bemoaning the fact that the NFL “just isn’t being fair to EB”.

That sounds like people not buying in to what he was doing. They didn't like being made to work hard or coached hard. What do all the Chiefs players say the hard work pays off in the end. They see the results and love it. With that being said he does need to adjust some to the players he has.

You sir, ARE RACIST.

Sorry, spelled 'A REALIST' wrong.

If EB was head coaching material, he'd be a HC by now. Period. End of story. His race is absolutely not a factor. EB is not meant to be the head person, like you correctly pointed out.

Its something. Plenty of other idiots have been given HC opportunities and failed miserably. He's never even been given the opportunity.

But I agree, just because you're a successful assistant doesn't mean you're ready to be the head guy.

I’d still rather hire EB than Arthur Smith. And numerous other obvious dingbats who got chances as a head coach.

Doug Pederson, Matt Nagy, Eric Bieniemy. Which ones got head coaching opportunities, and which one presided over the greatest offense in franchise history while winning 2 Super Bowls?

Nagy and Bieniemy are just like Andy. People called Nagy a moron for getting cute on 3rd and short. Bieniemy has learned well.

SPOT ON. There's never been a white oc win two championships and not get a HC job from what I remember so something has been very off about how EB has been treated.

He brought the best out of Sam Howell early in the season and no-one was running their mouths about him then. But he could only spray perfume on a turd for so long.

Anyway I hope EB at least sends our guys a video message before the SB. I think they'd be hyped.

There were already a few voices in the media suggesting race when EB didn’t get a job after his 2nd year as OC, and then covid happened and racial tensions got turned up a bunch. Through no fault of his own, EB became a symbol of unfairness, and there was a lot of attention on him and public demand that he get a shot. And I think NFL front offices absolutely do NOT like being told what to do and who to hire, because if the guy doesn’t work out, they think they appear weak and as if they’ll bend to any kind of media pressure.

If the world had just stayed normal, I think EB would’ve had his head coach opportunity by now

I don't blame an owner for refusing to hire a head coach who is the bad cop. You hire the good cop to be your leader and put the enforcer under him. Anyone who has watched the Chiefs the last several years should fully understand this. Anyone wanting to rehire EB to eventually replace Big Red is a ****ing idiot.

This. When you look around at new OCs/HCs that have had success early with a new team, the common denominator is that they all adapted their schemes/philosophies to the players they had on the roster. The more extreme examples would be Harbaugh with Lamar, Sirianni/Hurts, going further back Jim Harbaugh/Colin Kaepernick. In those cases the coaches quickly tailored their schemes to the strengths of the QBs that they had.

EB tried to force his players to adapt to his scheme, and didn't self-evaluate and then adapt his scheme to the strengths/weaknesses of his QB/players.

That stubbornness/inability to pivot is probably a big red flag to prospective GMs/owners.
