With Marcus Adams reclassifying and the return of Udeh, Harris, KJ, and Ejiofor, we already have a decent squad for next year.

The needs are really pretty specific from here: shooting and another point

Elmarko Jackson looks like the next great Kansas point, but he’s still only going to be a freshman. A ball handler with experience would be a huge get.

I think Self is just honest with the players and doesn’t want to lead them on.

Kinda like dumping someone. People appreciate a “hard no” much more than a “we’ll see”.

Did you forget about that thing called the transfer portal? The roster isn’t even close to set. They’ll probably add about three transfers, and they should be able to attract almost whoever they want. The freshman class is solid too. Jackson will be good and Marcus Adams has been dominant lately and skyrocketing up the rankings.

A ton of these good B12 teams we played all year were built on transfers (look at Texas). It’s the way the game is played these days.

BWillie grew pretty attached to Pettiford. Will be tough to let go of all those turnovers, no shooting ability and lost players defensively on screens.

He’s a top 30 recruit. I wouldn’t be so quick to give up on him. Those guys almost always end up becoming productive players for Self. He just started the year with some health issues and fell too far behind.

I think he had moments where he looked promising. His number one job is to work on his defense and awareness.
