Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

You're welcome.
This AR experience has been great for me. This time last year, I'd never even fired an assault rifle, nor ever even given serious consideration to picking one up. Then over the summer I shot one for the first time and was hooked. Since then I bought my own and added about $350 worth of upgrades, with another $250 coming this weekend (I'm getting the Magpul UBR stock). I've done a ton of research, and I've also installed everything myself with no outside assistance. That's a great feeling, too, especially for somebody who never really considered himself very mechanically inclined. I'm starting to run out of stuff to replace, though. Perhaps I'll start assembling a .762 upper. |

Latest mod - Magpul ACS stock. I was ready to get the much more expensive UBR, but the shop I went to had both mounted on other rifles, so I was able to try them both out. I liked the ACS much more, and considering it was $120 less, getting that one was a no brainer.

And from the inexplicable-me department, I just got back from the range (shooting pistols). I was doing okay, but not great. Got down to my last five rounds of .40, and just for a goof I shot them one-handed - and got three bulls and two near misses. After that, I finished off the remaining rounds of 9mm shooting one-handed as well, and shot consistenly better.
I'm not really sure how that's possible, other than the fact that as a kid I learned how to shoot one-handed. I guess I'm just ****ed up, but in this case, I'll happily take it. |

And finally, from the you-get-what-you-pay-for department, a couple of weeks ago I picked up this tactical light for $21 from Amazon and mounted it on my 9mm.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001BZPJRC DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP. Works great, for about five shots - then it flies off the end of the pistol. Consistently. EDIT: Upon further investigation, I realized that the rail of the P95 is too short for the light to lock completely - that's why it wouldn't stay on. I mounted it on a longer pit rail to see if was still screwed up and it locked completely, and I assume it wouldn't come off while being fired. Obviously not a good choice for a pistol with a short rail. Last edited by Frazod; 04-17-2011 at 02:00 AM.. |

Went to my first gun show today. I saw they had some mosin nagants, almost bought one for $99. and they I saw a norico Sks. I bought it and can't wait to fire it. It was $289 black, folding stock, bayonet, 30 rnd and 5 rnd mag. It also came with the original wood stock.
I'd post a picture but I'm on my phone. Anybody have any knowledge on these? I'd like to know if it was a good price, how old it is, etc. I am in love. |
