Also. Reports that the PS4 sold 1 million units in the first 24hrs. That has to include preorders right?

Absolutely.
I'd convinced myself I was going to abandon the XBox ship this generation. After watching that and for as much grief as the spy camera got, I'm going to have to reconsider. I'll just have to hold off until next Spring or Summer to see which one has the fewest fatal flaws. |

UPDATE FOR XBOX GUYS:
http://kotaku.com/xbox-one-games-che...pir-1466748708 Microsoft and Toys R Us have game deals. If you pre-order through the Microsoft Store you get $10 off select games on each title. Almost every launch title is covered though so you're getting your games for $50 with free shipping. The Toys R Us deal has Buy 3 get a $50 gift card but you have to go into the store and buy them as long as they're in stock. Toys R Us also has a Black Friday deal of Buy 1 Get 1 40% off, but that's on Black Friday. Overall the best deal would be the Microsoft Store but since they say Pre Order you better get your orders in before Thursday I would imagine. |

I can't decide if this is a big issue or not. I've seen the "only 0.4%" people having issues, but then there are stories out there making it seem like there are bigger issues with the systems. The fact that there is already a term "Blue Light of Death" makes me a think it's bigger than it's being let on.
http://www.nbcnews.com/technology/un...ath-2D11603681 Unlucky PlayStation 4 owners face 'blue light of death' Sony's next-generation PlayStation 4 video game console hit the shelves on Friday, receiving positive accolades from many early reviewers and Sony fans alike. But as some unlucky gamers who eagerly unpacked their new systems over the weekend found, the transition to the next generation of gaming wasn't as seamless as people they were promised. Shortly after the new gaming system went live, reports began to spread across the Internet about a so-called "blue light of death" — instead of glowing white when powering up, the light on some PS4 units would emit a pulsing blue color until powering off entirely or otherwise teetering on the edge of being completely nonfunctional. Sony, which had already addressed some of the PS4's performance issues prior to launch, responded by posting troubleshooting tips on its support forum. According to the tips Sony posted, the "blue light of death" could be indicative of everything from basic "TV compatibility" issues to defects with the PS4's power supply, hard drive or "other PS4 hardware." It's unclear just how systemic these performance issues are so far. The PlayStation 4's Amazon review page has been flooded with negative feedback. Given how aggressive many die-hard gamers can get with their online activities, there's no telling how many of those reviews are legitimate customer experiences versus efforts by Xbox One fans to sabotage the closest rival. Of the professional reviews posted last week, only two major gaming outlets — IGN and Kotaku — identified performance issues with PS4 retail units. In a statement given to NBC News last week, Sony put the failure rate for the new hardware at 0.4 percent. The console sold more than 1 million units its first day on the market, which would mean there's somewhere around 4,000 suffering from some sort of defect. Though 4,000 unhappy gamers isn't an insignificant number, labeling the PS4's launch issues the "blue light of death" seems unfair. The name is a reference to the Xbox 360's notorious "red ring of death," a problem that, according to Microsoft's own statements, affected between 3 percent and 5 percent of that console's early units and ultimately proved so pervasive that the company ended up extending the warranty period for early adopters. In a 2012 feature story, Wired Magazine called the Xbox 360 "one of the most public warranty debacles in the past decade." Only time will tell how widespread Sony's problems with the PlayStation 4 are, but they don't seem to be anywhere near "red ring of death" levels yet. Asked for comment on this story, a Sony representative reiterated the company's statement from last week that described the defective units as "a very small percentage of total units shipped to consumers to date." |

This is the first launch system i've bought...that said i got a 2 year warranty for a reason.
Previous system buys i bought after several months or a year and got 2-3 year warranties and never needed it. Hoping this is small and well, that mine is not one of em but it's protected. |

I had such a horrible experience with my 360s (plural..) that I just can't bring myself to buy one ; simply based on principle. I've never had a single issue with my PS3.
my next generation console will be a PS4.

That .04% is just Sony's failure rate they planned on having. When they say that only .04% have experienced this problem they mean they planned on only .04% experiencing those problems. With the RROD Microsoft probably did the same thing, it just ended up being much higher than they planned obviously.

Same here, that said I will hold off as i'm a pc gamer and only play consoles for sports games...which seems rather pointless right now anyways.

Only other game worth playing on console is Forza, and GTA V, until it hits PC. |

Microsoft stores will be stocking extra units come Friday. First come first serve. Give the one in Oak Park Mall a call and ask them how it's going to work. Either that, or watch Amazon carefully for random spurts of inventory.
