What a great freaking win!! So so so impressed with the job Dennis Gates has done. Getting a wide open shot out of seemingly every timeout is just great coaching. What an exciting team, and they've got tons of heart.
A victory tomorrow will be a tough accomplishment, but they've got a puncher's chance. You never know what could happen. |

24-8, 4th seed in SEC Tourney, 6 top 25 wins, Florida is the only bad loss, 11-7 in conference play, SEC tourney semi finals
Rankings at time of loss: #6 KU #13 Arkansas #4 Alabama #25 Texas AM x2 19-9 Auburn 18-10 Mississippi State 14-14 Florida - bad loss We have some pretty damn good wins (rankings at time of win) Illinois - 16th Kentucky - 17th Arkansas - 25th Iowa State - 12th Tennessee - 5th Tennessee - 17th So 1 bad loss and it was to a current .500 team. We should be a 5 at worse. |

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Missouri announced Friday night that the University and head men’s basketball coach Dennis Gates have agreed to a contract extension. Gates’ contract was extended through the 2028-29 season, and his salary will increase to $400,000 in the 2023-24 season. The pay raise includes annual increases of $100,000 for each season through the life of the agreement. I mean surely he's not making only $400k a year right? NVM, he will be making $4 mil a year next year with annual $100k raise. $4 mil a year would have put him tied for 10 in men's bball coaching salary. He was only making $2.5 mil this year. On Thursday, the UM System Board of Curators unanimously approved the addendum to Gates's contract that extends his initial deal through the 2028-29 season. Under the new contract, his guaranteed salary also increases $100,000 each year. Just in case other schools try luring him away from Columbia, the new contract increases his buyout to $25.5 million should he leave for another job in 2023-24. MU would owe him the same amount if he's fired within the next year without cause. The buyout decreases each year based on how much money is left on his contract.
