Well we'd never make it with Mizzou in our conference. That we can all agree on.

Why do you think that this would force a push to 8? The conferences with a CCG have all the votes.

The Big 12 might not have a CG but what they do have is a 9-game conference schedule. Something your SEC is talking about moving to. Why isn't that a suitable replacement for a CG? It gives all the teams a round robin opportunity to prove they are the best of the conference. No other conference can say that. All these arguments for making conferences bigger keeping falling short. You get screwed up scheduling (look at you SEC schedule over the next 5 years) You haven't even played your "dedicated rival" yet. Bottom line is the Big 12 doesn't care. Money is flowing and we have real rivals now because we play each other so often. These other conferences are so big an frankly uninteresting, I'm quite happy with how local the Big 12 seems. |

Same reason the NCAA Tournament is a far more popular "Champion". People know it's something that is won after everyone has competed. People knew ND/Bama was a sham. Not as bad as the year before but still a sham. I doubt CFB can ever get there honestly. It's too complicated of a setup with all the bowls. The bowls see themselves as an end-all. They don't want to be a component of a playoff, no matter how many teams. |

If we wanted an urban school that sucks in sports, has no sports history, plays 2nd or 3rd fiddle in its own state and sucks welfare from the real producers we'd just poach Vandy.

Rivalries: There is one great rivalry in the Big 12 and two that are solid locally, but not national-interest games. Every other conference has as many or more. Money: Money is important in that it helps teams win. Putting yourself at a strategic disadvantage for money is cutting off your nose in spite of your face. Round Robin vs CCG: There is no substitute for an extra win. The big 12 winner will have played 9 conference games. Every other conference winner will have played at least 9 conference games...usually with 2 against the second best team in the conference. Louisville/Cincy: Why keep using the same reasoning that left Louisville out? That was a terrible decision. Louisville single-handedly outperformed the entire Big 12 in both basketball and football and is poised to be the next big thing. Cincy isn't there, but they would be easily in the top half of the conference in both sports.

I guess we just have a philosophical differences on what college sports are. That's okay I suppose. College football has existed for 100 years without a true national champion pretty much 80% of the time. It's just not inherent to the sport. Too many variables. It's not the NFL and never will be. I'm happy you are happy in your new home and seem to think it's so much better. I don't see it that way but that's okay. |

Yeah, I seriously doubt Vandy answers that phone call. Makes no sense for Vandy at all.

Well, if Texas rejects the idea, then of course KU must follow the will of their Masters and Overlords.

I cherry picked dates? I used the end of the season last year...you know...the time when the playoff teams would get picked. And I gave you completely accurate tournament numbers. The 2012 tournament average nearly 1,000 more fans per game despite the fact that KU and KSU didn't play as many games.

2012 when MU "dominated the tournament". It took KU's participation in the semi's and finals to bring in the biggest numbers. But everyone knows this. |

Least you could do is win something and tell them to stfu. Even Texas A&M won a couple SEC titles this year. |
